The lights of the street party lit up the neighborhood  as the sound of laughter spread through the area. The warmth of the air made it easier to make the night enjoyable and the smell of fried Oreos became the craving of most people at the fair

"Mommy I wanna go play there" Adalyn says as she tugs on her mom's clothing. She points towards a game that requires using a water gun to shoot a target in order to win a desired prize.

Dawn nods. "Let's get you cotton candy first" she states as she takes a twenty dollar bill out of her wallet and hands it to the woman at the concession stand

"Nooo mommy please. Can we go play first" the little girl whines as she pushes her light brown hair behind her ears

"I thought you wanted cotton candy" Dawn frowns as she waits for the lady to hand her the sweet candy. She watches the sugar churn into a pink feathery consistency

"I'll take her there while you get the cotton candy" Michelle smiles at her friend as she takes the girl's hand and walks into the crowd of people who randomly stand in the middle of the street

After waiting for about two minutes, Dawn recieved her order and headed towards the game. Pushing past people with a smile on her face, she reaches the gaming stand where she sees Michelle and Adalyn.

"Hey" she says as she hands her friend the cotton candy.

"Take a picture of her"

Dawn nods and goes to take her phone out of her pocket. She presses on her camera and turns on her flash. With the click of the button, the light beams over the area and catches the image of her daughter shooting the water gun at the target.

She hears faint laughter in the background as she observes the picture when she catches something with her eye that makes her heart sink. Holding the phone in her hand, she raises her head slowly to see him staring at her

Mattia

The world felt like it was in pause. Was it a sign that she kept seeing him? It was only the second instance where they had met in years but it wasn't exactly something either of them had wanted

Dawn didn't want to see him again. Despite feeling that they should fix the problem between them, Dawn knew Mattia had hated her. And that feeling of hatred was enough to make her stay away

She didn't want to bother him. She had caused enough harm

But he wasn't alone. He had a woman with him that had her hand intertwined with his. She was laughing as she shot the target with her gun. Only feet away from Dawn.

She had brown hair that spread down to her shoulders and fairly pale skin with a great amount of makeup on. The girl hadn't acknowledged Dawn's existence at that moment. She had no idea that she was the girl that broke Mattia's heart.

Dawn inhales quietly as her heart races. He couldn't have moved on...

The man that was holding hands with someone else right now had touched every inch of Dawn's body. He had loved every part of her. He had wished that he could love her for longer. But she left and she wasn't surprised to see he's moved on
