Dawn braced for the impact she assumed was coming. She instantly brought her hands to her face as they shielded her features. She winced. But instead of an impact, she was met with yells

"Aye!" Mattia's voice shook the room as he pushed Torvas' fist back enough to cause the man to lose his balance before Mattia pinned his body against the wall.

A thud filled the room

Dawn's hands fell down to her chest as her fingertips clung to the fabric of her clothes. She gasped instantly at the sight of the men fighting.

"What the fuck!" Michelle's voice suddenly pierced

Dawn turned with a slight jump and faced the door to see her friend in the doorframe standing besides Alejandro.

Adalyn was looking in on the two men in the room. Her face acquired fear. A look Dawn hadn't seen from her child before.

A man she hadn't met. And her father pinning him down by his neck. Why wouldn't she be fearful

"Michelle get her out of here" Dawn swallowed the saliva that filled her dry mouth

Michelle immediately pulled the girl out of the scene as she directed her down the stairs and into the living room of the first floor

Dawn shook her head at Alejandro who stared at her confusedly. And then as Torvas grunted, Alejandro stepped in and pulled the two apart

"You can't fucking fight like that when there's a child! -"

"He was gonna fucking hit Dawn!" Mattia shouted

"Dawn please-" the words came out of Torvas' mouth when they were cut off by Alejandro pushing the man against the wall.

Dawn watched Torvas'eyes shut with the impact. She winced as Alejandro continued to push him farther onto the wall

"You were gonna hit her?"

"It was my instinct-"

Alejandro pushed him again

"How the fuck did you get in you fucking psychotic bastard"

The man grunted while refusing to speak

Alejandro continued to push him harshly

"He used the key-" Dawn said unable to watch any more of this

"I wanna hear it from him!" Alejandro's vein popped out of his forehead as Mattia approached the woman in the room

"The cops are gonna be here soon" he whispered to her

"I just want him to leave. I don't care about the cops I don't want problems-"

"Dawn I'm sorry!" Torvas yelled.

"Don't talk to her!" Alejandro yelled back before Torvas pushed himself off the wall and out of Ale's grip. He then pushed past Mattia and took Dawn's hand as he brought her to the end of the room by the window.
