"D-Dawn?"

He asked as a tear fell down his cheek. She stared at him trying to figure out what she would say. But she couldn't build up the courage to talk to him. And she didn't know why

He wiped his tears and looked down at the floor as she fiddled with the rings on her fingers. "We need to talk" she said quietly and he hesitated before moving out of the doorframe and allowing her inside the room

He shut and locked the door behind her as his body leaned on the white coated wall. He stared at her as she sat down on the edge of his bed.

"What is it" he said angrily as he turned his gaze away from her.

"Why aren't you down there" she shook her head softly as she slowly inhaled and took in deep breaths of air

He didn't answer her as he went to grab his phone from the desk besides his bed when she sprung up from the corner of the bed and took his phone right before he could grasp it

He looked up at her with fury in his eyes that caused her to immediately be at a loss of words

"Give me the fucking phone"he emphasized each word as his eyes provoked anger

"Why aren't you down there" she repeated her question but to no response. She set one hand on her forehead as she thought of how much time she was wasting. "Mattia your wife is down there waiting-" she raised her voice

"She isn't my wife!" he yelled and grabbed her hand forcefully and took his phone

"Don't ever touch me like that!"

"Just get out!" He yelled before opening his phone to an Uber app. He was going to leave

She stood and grabbed it from him. "I won't let you do this" she said when he grabbed her by the material of her dress that tugged at her waist. She stared into his eyes as he let go

"I-im sorry" his eyes began tearing up. She tops in front of him for a minute with nothing to say. Just an awkward silence as he cried

"I- don't be sorry" she said as she approached him and outstretched her arms for a hug. He took a few breaths before engulfing her in his tight grip. His arms wrapped around her waist as she wrapped hers around his neck. She felt his tears fall onto her red dress as she shut her eyes. The hug lasted about a minute before the two pulled away from one another but Mattia kept his hands on her waist as he stared into her gemstone eyes.

"Mattia you gotta go down there now. Your guests and family are waiting for you-"

"I'm not going" he said loudly which made her spine shiver as she winced.

"I'm sorry—I-I didn't mean to yell" he said

"Why don't you wanna do this?" She tried to understand but she couldn't

He shook his head as she wiped a tear away. He took her hand in his and kept it held to his face before planting a kiss on it. "I don't wanna do this if it's not with you"

"Mattia I'll always be here for you-"

"But I want you to be here with me. This day could've been me and you. But you didn't want that for us"

She looked down to avoid revealing her teary eyes to him as she  removed her hand from his face gently when he pulled it back.

"Don't do this to me . Not again"

"You stopped talking to me. You didn't invite me to this. You started hating me" she began crying and he lifted her chin to face him.

"I couldn't look at you without wanting to kiss you. I couldn't talk to you without feeling those strong feelings I have for you. I couldn't invite you to the wedding when my whole life I wanted this day to be about me and you. Just me and you— it's all I ever wanted. And to see you sitting there in the audience while I make vows with someone else" he cried and so did she. "It wouldn't feel right"

"It's too late" she cried

"No it's not. I need you. I didn't even know you were coming and the situation didn't feel right. You're everything I could want. Everything I do want. I just— I need you. I need you, Dawn" he repeated. "I need you" he held her face with both his hand and she nodded

"You have me now" she nodded. "Forever and always" she laid her head on his chest when he took his phone out of his pocket without her realizing and played a slowed song.

"This is for me and you" he whispered as he took her hand in his and used the other to steady her waist

She smiled as he began swaying back and forth as she did the same. The two began laughing gently as the song played
