26| Tell Me Your Pretty Lies

"He won't pick up," Seohyun sobbed and put her phone back onto the coffee table, "Why isn't he picking up?"

"Seohyun, please stop crying. Seeing you like this breaks my heart," Yuri sighed and gently caressed her best friend's back. After returning from the party and having another mental breakdown, Seohyun had called her and wasn't even able to form proper words because of how miserable she felt. Yuri, who had been extremely worried, immediately drove to Seohyun's place and tried to cheer her up. Sadly, it seemed like there was nothing that could put a smile on the woman's face.

"I-I don't know what to do, Unnie. It's a-all my f-fault."

"Stop blaming yourself. Didn't you say that someone locked the door?"

"It's not only that.. Jungkook always respected my privacy, and this time, he actually asked me to get out of my comfort zone and stay by his side all night long. I-I couldn't even do that! How selfish.. he has every right to be upset. I'm his wife, for God's sake! I shouldn't be a burden to him."

"What are you talking about? You're already doing so much for him! Seohyun, you're not a bad wife. It's not your fault if someone decided to prank you. Instead of crying, you should try to find out who did this to you."

"Ugh, I don't even know, too many people were there! It could literally be everybody."

"Or someone who dislikes you."

"Again, this could be everybody. Being married to Jeon Jungkook alone makes me the perfect target for hate: there's probably a bunch of jealous women- and men- who wish me death every day."

"Don't say things like that, Seo."

"It's true! Sometimes I ask myself why I decided to marry a celebrity in the first place, but then I remember that I fucking love this guy."

"And he loves you! I don't know why you guys don't get along with each other, you're like the perfect couple!"

"We were. It has been like this for a few months now.. I'm sick of fighting him."

"Seohyun, please stay strong. Let's focus on what happened in the bathroom for a second. You told me about that girl," Yuri stated confidently and picked up a pen and piece of paper from the table.

"Sana. She's Izumi's sister and preparing for her debut as an actress."

"And she's close with Jungkook's family?"

"Yes, everyone adores her. She's only nineteen and always acts like a sweet, innocent angel."

"But she's also a bitch?"

"I- I think so? I don't know, is it bad for me to talk like that about someone who's nearly ten years younger than me?" Seohyun asked worriedly.

"Well, she's not a child anymore."

"Yeah.."

"Anyway, that's not important! She's obviously a snake and always seems to be around Jungkook."

"Maybe she only sees him as an older brother? Or it's just a stupid teenage crush."

"But still enough to drive you crazy, right?"

"..."

"That's what I thought."

"I'll try to find out what her business is, but when it comes to locking the door, I don't think that it was her who did it. Jungkook said she never left his side."

"Well, locking a person inside a room can't possibly take longer than two minutes. We shouldn't just trust Jungkook's words, especially not if the house was this crowded," Yuri argued and wrote a few things down, "Okay, what about the other people you talked to at the party?"
