"Answer me, Jungkook. Are you cheating on Seohyun?"
The doctor was speechless. He didn't expect Jaewon to find out so soon.
No. He didn't expect anyone to find out.
Look at him now. Standing in front of his best friend, hands shaking as he processed what Jaewon had just accused him with.
Accused? Well, he was not wrong. But what was Jungkook supposed to say? Lie and start a fight? Tell the truth and face the consequences? He didn't want to lie, Jaewon wouldn't believe him anyway.
"Jungkook?"
Did he really think that he could hide his affair any longer? If his friend already knew, then it was only a matter of time before Seohyun found out about it, too.
"Jungkook.."
No, no! Jungkook didn't want her to know. She couldn't know!
"Tell me."
He needed to lie. He needed to deny every accusation and make sure no one knew about his infidelity- make sure his wife didn't know.
"Jungkook."
Or should he be honest? Tell Jaewon about Jimin and pray to god that his best friend wouldn't run off and talk to Seohyun? Would Jaewon do that? He said it before, they were friends. Not as close as him and Jungkook were, but still pretty close.
"Jungkook."
Yeah, he would definitely tell her.
"Jungkook!"
"Yes! Yes, I am!" He yelled, a few nurses looking at him weirdly.
"God," Jaewon breathed, shaking his head, "You crazy bastard."
"We can't talk here."
"Why not? Let the others know, too. Hey, why not tell our younger patients? I'm sure they would be thrilled to know that their favorite doctor couldn't keep his dick inside his pants and instead decided to fuck around-"
Jungkook grabbed him by his arm, pulling him towards his office. He was angry and didn't want others to witness their fight. Hell, they were in a damn hospital.
"Okay, you wanna talk? Let's talk then," Jaewon said and crossed his arms, watching Jungkook lock the door.
"Could you please stop being so loud?" Jungkook hissed and walked to his desk, falling onto the chair with a deep sigh.
"Oh, is that the only thing you care about? Are you afraid of ruining your reputation, Dr. Jeon?"
"Stop being an asshole. You don't know anything."
"Then tell me? Why the fuck are you cheating on your wife?!"
"I don't know."
"You don't know?"
"No. I mean, yes. I know, I- fuck, I don't know if I know!"
"Okay, this is bullshit. How can you not know? There must be a reason! I mean, I know you guys were struggling with your relationship ever since the thing with Seohyun's brother happened, but.. cheating? Fucking cheating?"
"It's not only that. We always fought, and I started to question everything. My marriage, my life.. it sounds stupid, but I didn't cheat on her because I fell out of love. I mean, I still love her. Not in the same way I did a few years ago, but I still love her. I cheated on her, because.. fuck, because I'm a terrible human being! Because I was unhappy with my life! Because I started falling for someone else! Because I never changed at all!"
