Chapter 10

Zoey sat in her room....quietly, the faint hums of the pipes in the wall and the sound of the BB units beeping quietly.

Sounds played in her head...A voice, familiar in its cruel, motherly tone.

"Your worthless."

"Join me and together we can rule the Galaxy."

Chants like theses almost drove the girl mad, she had known her mother was dark and that's why its easy for the dark to talk to her, but it had been getting out of hand since Fleet A1.

She played with BB-8's wires and rearrange them so the panels that had broke fit right back where they were ment to be.

A new voice interrupted, the same voice from Tatooine, the soft, fatherly voice.

"Just keep pushing through, your father and Jake are in your corner."

A knock came at the door, startling the room's occupants. "Who is it?" Zoey called as a sweet voice played ever so softly that felt wrong to listen to.

"Its Jake." He responded and turned the knob of the door. "Are you ok, you've been quiet for a while now...its not like you." Jake said, walking in slowly and sitting next to Zoey.

She rested her head on his shoulder and breathed a sigh before telling him everything.

"I've been hearing voices....dark ones, of a female...trying to get me to the dark, then its a fatherly voice right after, comforting me." Zoey said poor out tears and lifting her head to meet his.

"I just can't handle the ANGER ANYMORE." Zoey exclaimed, standing to her feet and walking closer to where BB-A756 stood and rubbed her eyes.

Amber eyes shown through but quickly faded as she took a breath and started to play with hair elastics on her desk.

"you know I want you... it's not a secret I try to hide..." Jake sang softly as he stood behind her while she shook with fear of the dark in her. "I know you want me, so don't keep saying our hands are tied...you claim it's not in the cards, fate is pulling you miles away and out of reach from me...." He sang more in a soothing voice and resting his head atop hers.

The driods watched, amazed at the scene unfolding as Jake continued. "But you're here in my heart, so who can stop me if I decide that you're my destiny?....What if we rewrite the stars? Say you were made to be mine. Nothing could keep us apart, you'd be the one I was meant to find. It's up to you, and it's up to me, no one can say what we get to be. So why don't we rewrite the stars?
Maybe the world could be ours...
Tonight" he twirled her around to face him and they started to sway ever so slightly as Zoey started.

"You think it's easy...You think I don't want to run to you, but there are mountains; and there are doors that we can't walk through... I know you're wondering why because we're able to be just you and me within these walls...But when we go outside, you're going to wake up and see that it was hopeless after all..." She paused and looked at the window before taking a breath then leaning into Jake.

"No one can rewrite the stars, how can you say you'll be mine? Everything keeps us apart, and I'm not the one you were meant to find. It's not up to you, it's not up to me
when everyone tells us what we can be...
How can we rewrite the stars? Say that the world can be ours... Tonight" She looked at Jake as his eyes sparkles like diamonds in a rough. She smiled but the expression quickly faded as the thoughts pushed their way back into her head.

"All I want is to fly with you" Jake said as he felt the thoughts seep out of her walls and flooded his mind. Jake's hand rested on Zoey's face as she nuzzled into his grasp. "All I want is to fall with you" Zoey admitted as a tear escaped her eye and fell down her soft skin. "So just give me all of you..."

Zoey pulled away and walked over to the window, looking out at the stars. "It feels impossible..." She spoke softly under her breath. "it's not impossible" Jake spoke resting a hand on her shoulder which she gladly took and turned. "Is it impossible?" She sang as Jake smiled.

"Say that it's possible.... How do we rewrite the stars? Say you were made to be mine?
Nothing can keep us apart, 'cause you are the one I was meant to find. It's up to you
And it's up to me, no one can say what we get to be and why don't we rewrite the stars? Changing the world to be ours..."

Jake leaned down to kiss Zoey, their lips met and they felt happy as a couple in the first time since... Ever.

The last lyrics played in Zoey's head, "You know I want you...It's not a secret I try to hide, but I can't have you...We're bound to break and my hands are tied..."
