Lexa

Clarke had told her of the others leaving, which would have prompted her to be angry, but a scout had informed her of problems at Arkadia. It was time the Commander paid a visit to the thirteenth clan.

"We will meet them there. I have reports of trouble in the camp and we need to make sure everything is okay." Looking out over Polis, Lexa turned on her heals to see Clarke frowning. "What is wrong?"

"Nothing." The blonde wasn't a good liar, at least not to her, but Lexa let the matter drop.

Leaving the Throne Room, the couple informed everyone of the plan if they wished to join, Anya and Luna both agreeing to come. Something told her, the General's decision had something to do with a disappeared mechanic. Within an hour everyone was ready to leave, meeting outside the tower to find horses.

"Ready to go? Clarke's nod as she mounted her horse next to Lexa's was the last one given. Urging her horse forward, the group started slow, passing by Polis' inhabitants calmly. The last thing anyone needed was to think something was wrong.

As soon as they crested the hill overlooking Polis, Lexa spurred her horse forward, running to their destination. Riding none stop for remainder of the day, the group eventually pulled off the main path as the sun dipped below the trees.

"We'll stop for tonight and then tomorrow we should reach Arkadia by mid-afternoon." Lexa dropped from her horse, loosely tying it to a tree not far from a cave. The others followed suit, Clarke and Luna taking a moment longer.

"How are you not sore after riding for that long?"

Smiling at Clarke, I suppressed a laugh. "Practice."

The pair busied themselves with getting their packs untied and into the cave, the light starting to dim quickly. Without a word, they also left to get firewood, both sensing the conversation that needed to happen behind them.

Not far from the cave, Clarke broke the silence as Lexa bent down to grab another stick, stopping her with the question. "What happened between those two?" It was a valid question, gossip was something that didn't seem to change no matter whose people you were.

"Their problems are their own business." Avoiding her gaze, Lexa continued to collect firewood until her arms were full, Clarke having stopped to watch her.

A soft chuckle stopped Lexa once more. "You don't know, do you?" Lexa could hear Clarke step towards her, although she had to admit, she was harder to hear than when they had first met.

Rolling her eyes at her love's childishness, Lexa for once decided to indulge herself. "No. Until today, I was unaware Anya was married." Catching sight of Clarke's arms also full, Lexa started back towards the cave, Clarke automatically following her.

Obviously the couple hadn't been gone long enough, as Lexa heard Luna before they entered. "You left. You have no right to care about me now, because if I hadn't been forced to come to Polis myself, you never would have come to me." Lexa stopped, hoping Clarke understood. While listening in wasn't the best thing to do, walking in wasn't much better.

"I had orders-" Anya was cut off.

"You always have orders Anya. I never cared about your position, I understood that. What I don't agree with is telling me you would return, only to leave me waiting like an idiot." As Luna finished, Lexa took it as a good moment to make themselves known. At the very least they both needed time to calm down.
