Its dusty.

That's the first thing he realized.

His heart was also hurting.

Or maybe it was the fact that he couldn't feel his face.

He wasn't sure.

Still, he crumpled on the first thing he could find which was a random looking half-spike cement slab.

Didn't look that comfy, but he wasn't complaining.

He was tired. So, so tired.

His vision was hurting too.

Why couldn't he think straight?

He hears voices speaking to him, flashes of familiar faces.

Rhodey.

He's not saying anything. His friend is quiet, head bowed down as his hand is placed over his shoulder.

Tony realizes fairly quickly that he was dying.

So that's where that fading feeling is coming from.

"Mr. Stark?" It's Peter.

He's holding onto Tony's shoulders.

Tony tries to respond but finds he can't. His mouth feel heavy, his jaw hung tight.

Where was he again?

"Hey, Mr. Stark? Can you hear me? It's Peter, hey. We won, Mr. Stark– We won, Mr. Stark. We won. You did it, sir. You did it-"

They won.

They won, right?

It's his wife that crosses his vision, the woman he's married to and has a child with.

Morgan...

I have a daughter.

"Hey... Pep."

She laces their fingers together, going to rest on top of his arc reactor, that blinks slowly.

He spots Steve in the background and Thor.

He saw them die.

No... wait, they didn't... he remembers them fighting Thanos before the titan over powered them and knocked them unconscious.

But... why was another image crossing his vision?

One of Steve's dead body, his arm torn off.

One of Thor's dead body, blood leaking out of his bitten shoulder?

That couldn't be right.

"Tony, look at me." Peppers caress the sides of Tony's face and he smiles, feeling it comforting, the confusion momentarily clearing.

She smiles at him, a long loving smile that makes his heart go still ease.

"We're gonna be okay." She tells him. "You can rest now."
