finally the door reopened. it had felt like years after they left me in the cooridor as the two had left to talk something out between them. i didn't hear any shouting so surprisingly it looks like they didn't argue for once

"get well soon soonyoung."
jiyeon bid him farewell. there was a serious tone in her voice, different to her usual sarcastic tone

"yeah thanks." he dismissed her coldly

passing by me, she slowly leaned over and whispered something in my ear
"he's all yours now."

i felt the slight tinge in my ears

what is she going on about? he's not mine.

soonyoung's eyes then laid upon me. they were different from they usually were. his bright, clumsy gaze was replaced by a dull bitter one

"hi." i managed to say

he stayed silent. still staring at me from his door with his other hand shoved into the pockets of his sweatpants

"umm well the delivery man came so i paid for your food." i explained with a smile, lifting the plastic bag in my hand as i skipped towards him

his face didn't change and stayed solemn as he slowly began to close his door
"thanks just leave them by my door and you can go back to class–"

"no wait!"
i yelled making him stop halfway through closing the door so only his head peeping out was visible

he stared at me, waiting for me to say something

i took a deep breathe, you can do this seulmin
"i came here to see you."

the look in his eyes was too unfamiliar from his usual self. they were so cold, so uninviting
"for what, you're going to stomp on my other foot too? was one not not enough?"

"no!" i denied, offended he'd even think that way

"then what do you want?"
he talked to me as if i was jiyeon or something

"i came here to apologise. i know you hate me because i hate me too and to be honest i don't blame you if you do." i looked up to see his unwavering expression
"i'm sorry. for hurting you i never meant to. hurting you would be the last thing on my mind but my mind was so hectic that day and i had this plan and but i didn't want to do it and then you came so my brain shut down and then–

"seulmin."

"i remember mr park was like it's all about the ant jam or something but it wasn't really like that but it was something rather sweet–

"seulmin!"

i fell silent. the rustling of the plastic bag in my hand was filling the empty silence between us

soonyoung sighed, hanging his head down. when he looked back up i flashed him my puppy eyes, begging for him to forgive me

hesitantly, he swung the door open.
"come in."

i cheered as i skipped into his dorm
"yay!"

he flashed me an irritated glare which looked more cute than angry to me "that doesn't mean i forgive you though."
