“You’re late.” Meruem seethed.

“My apologies, sire. It won’t happen again,” Piper responded as she bowed. Piper made her way along the wall to the game where she was prepared to stand for the next few hours.

“Why are you standing there?” Meruem hissed. Piper couldn’t help but look at him in confusion.

“Sire?” Piper questioned. He sighed in annoyance.

“You’re supposed to sit here,” He said gesturing to the area next to him. Piper realized that he expected her to sit next to him every time he has a match against the village girl. Much like the first time, Piper sat a respectable distance from the king, trying not to be too friendly. Without any sort of hesitation, Piper felt his tail slither around her, sending chills up her spine, and slid her closer to him. Trying not to panic, Piper kept her eyes on the game board. However, Meruem moved her head so she could face him. “Wish me luck,” Meruem said wearing a mischievous smirk on his face as he leaned in and kissed Piper gently. As much as Piper wanted to push him off, her arms were limp. Her heart was pounding in her throat. She fought her instinct telling her to kiss him back. He removed himself and licked the edge of her ear. “I’ve marked you. You’re mine until I’m done with you,” He breathed huskily in her ear, causing Piper’s ears to turn to a sunset hue. Meruem wrapped his arm around her. His hand, underneath her breast. He didn't look at her. His gaze focused on the board.

“He looks so focused that if I try to leave, he probably wouldn’t notice,” Piper thought to herself as she tried subtly trying to reposition herself to make it easier for her to leave unnoticed. However, Meruem did notice her movements. His tail’s grip tightened. One of his fingers flicked Piper’s breast, directly over her bud. Piper gasped in reflex before quickly covering her mouth. A small smile formed on Meruem's face. He could see Piper trying to rid herself of the blood in her cheeks as quickly as possible.

“Stop squirming. I won’t hesitate to do it again,” Meruem said without taking his eyes off the board. Piper’s face turned to a cherry red hue. She felt lucky that the girl couldn’t see and Meruem was so focused on the game. As quickly as she possibly could, she reduced the color in her face. She couldn’t help but want to fidget under the king’s touch.

“My heart is pounding against my rib cage. Why can’t I calm down?” Piper asked herself. She admired Meruem’s features before cursing herself for doing just that. “That’s the second time he’s kissed me. What the hell is going through his head?” Piper soon felt comfortable under his touch. She let herself be at ease. There was a part of her that liked his advances and wanted more of them. Her face blushed at the seductive scenarios she played in her mind. She wanted to curl into a ball and die in a hole. She felt a real sense of duty to protect him from the humans she knew would come for his life. She felt prepared to fight them.

“I’m proud to call you my daughter,” Isaac’s words rang in her mind. A frown appeared on her face. She ripped herself from her little fantasy.

“What a disappointment I’ve become,” Piper thought to herself, “I never had these feelings before so why am I getting them now?” Piper wanted to slap herself. She reminded herself why she was there in the first place.

Meruem was having difficulty focusing on the gungi game. He wanted to ravage Piper. He had come to love the feeling of their lips touching. He was fond of the way he was able to hold her body with his tail. He wanted more of her.

“She can’t leave if she wanted to,” Meruem thought to himself as he snuck a glance at Piper who looked as if she was completely there, “I marked her. I’ll be able to track her no matter what. She’s mine forever.”
