They'd been back in Mystic Falls for a week and a half, and MJ had taken a step back from certain people.

Elena had made a declaration; for every moment the Salvatore brothers spent trying to get her to take the cure, she'd kill someone – and MJ was taking that as permission to vanish.

Caroline had been avoiding Elena too, not wanting to give her old friend another chance to stake her, which meant MJ didn't need to worry about keeping her safe. And, even if she hadn't chosen to step back from the Elena-Saga, she'd been a little preoccupied with the Mikaelson's anyway.

Elijah had returned, only to instantly removed himself from the conversation the moment Klaus and Rebekah started to argue.

He then returned a few days later with the proposition of 'family breakfast', giving them both a three days to prepare their arguments.

There was also the 'Silas' situation.

He was running around and threatening people, which was fun knowledge to have. Any of her friends could really be an immortal witch intent on raising hell on earth.

When MJ hadn't been focused on making sure the Mikaelson sibling squabble didn't result in a body count, she'd been focused on Prom. She had Prom dresses to make for people, decorations to hang, and Prom Queen Campaigns to run.

She'd missed taking the time to sew – it made her life a million times less stressful.

MJ wasn't sewing when her phone rang though, no, she was in a corridor of the Mikaelson Mansion.

The ID said; Bonnie.

Someone MJ hadn't actually spoken to since the evening they'd returned from the island. Someone who'd been possessed and controlled by Silas since she got back, and who MJ had killed twelve witches to save...

"Hi, Bonnie," MJ greeted, a little unsure of what to say.

"Hi..."

"I'm – "

"I'm sorry," Bonnie spoke quicker, "I'm sorry about what happened. I'm sorry we didn't listen, and I'm sorry you killed those witches – "

"Bonnie," MJ cut her off, "It kept you alive."

Bonnie sniffed on the other end, "I – "

"No debate. Worth it."

"I should've come to you from the beginning, I should've talked to you about Expression before I let myself get carried away wit – "

"We don't live in what-ifs, okay? I was pretty MIA," She'd been spending her time with Klaus and Kol, and Tyler, "I should've been there to help you, and I should've told you that Shane was shady the second Damon and I learnt about his calls with Pastor Young."

"I'm so sorry."

"I'm sorry too."

That conversation was the exact reason why MJ wanted to keep Bonnie safe and alive. When Bonnie apologised, she sounded genuine.

Bonnie learnt from her mistakes and tried to help the people she cared about.

Bonnie had been the one to actually call her, knowing MJ would want the facts and the play-by-play, even if learning the information might've caused MJ yell at her.
