The campers huffed and puffed and were panting like crazy. The trio didn't see what was the big deal. I mean, they were only doing the warm-ups. And because Eidos took pity on them, they decided to make them do the initiation training round. It was a series of exercises which newly joined members of the Chaos army start training with. Compared to the harsh training Eidos made the regular soldier go through, this was a piece of cake.

They were told to run 5 times around the camp borders. Cue the complaining and whining.

Eidos had observed that the demigods had become lazy. The borders protected them from monsters and there was no reason for quests anymore, so eventually they stopped training. No one except the immortal campers knew of the harsh life outside the borders, but he didn't see them trying to encourage them. Heck, even after being immortal, they were still out of shape.

Finally after the agonisingly slow warm-up, Eidos decided that they were to be introduced with new fighting techniques. Unfortunately for him, the older methods and moves were nearly forgoten, leaving the demigods acting like clumsily, spoiled brats. It was a dire situation indeed, but the Commander was determined to save the innocent victims who knew nothing of why they were like this. It was not their fault after all.

Cora was again amazed by Eidos. How could that man be so selfless to try to help so many who had hurt him before? Why was it that they could not do the same? Both Luke and her were seething in anger at them, but held themselves at bay, for they knew that this was not their battle to pick, or even fight, they would do it in a heartbeat to protect their friend.

And so they watched as even the arrogant of all people were exhausted by the simple exercise. One thing was sure, that they had a long long way to go, if they wanted to survive.
