Eidos wondered why he was always the one who was reasonable all the time...One moment he was the one glowing like crazy, and now he was the one trying to stop the creator of the universe from trying to kill the gods.
What he didn't understand was why chaos was overreacting so much. yes, he did lose control, but it was not the gods fault, he was already at his limit and they just may have activated it. Yes, the gods were insufferable, but he had obviously faced worse. But unfortunately, Chaos was not willing to listen.
So that is why, poor Eidos had to go to Chaos, calm him, then convince him that he was perfectly alright. Then he had to go back to Olympus where he Luke was frantically trying to calm the gods. After convincing the gods that now Eidos was not a threat and it was perfectly fine for them to come out from behind their thrones, Eidos managed to ask them why the trio was summoned in the first place.
Apparently they had been summoned, to Olympus, to formally congratulate them and thank them for their efforts in the war. The sentiment was appreciated by him but their could not have been a worse timing. If only they had called him an hour later, he would have successfully expelled the energy, leaving no threat to the people.
But he was glad for one thing. Now he had the Gods, Chaos, and his friends in one place which would make everything way easier for what he had in mind. He could have done it somewhere else but now seemed to be the right moment. But he had to tread carefully, Chaos was already being way too overprotective for Eidos's liking.
So he went along with the gods little ceremony, where they 'formally' thanked them and tried to offer gifts to the commanders. Unfortunately, when you are the creators commanders, you tend to have a lot of stuff, so they politely declined, (not so polite in Cora's case, but she tried).
Anyways, they had a good time, mingling around, talking, laughing. An unusual thing was happening with Eidos though. Ever since he had revealed his face, all the ladies (and some men) were quite interested in his handsome face, but poor Eidos were just as clueless as usual, trying to understand why many goddesses were giggling and batting their eyelashes and even fainting when he talked to them. He was confused almost all the time, while Luke and Zoe were left amused at his puzzled eyes.
He soon forgot all about it when the guests started to leave, leaving them with the few, who actually cared about him. Hestia, Poseidon, Hades, Chaos and the duo were all those who were left, and they were the only people who Eidos wanted at that moment.
He cleared his throat, bring all eyes upon him, "I would like to say something," he said, his voice, calm and clear, completely sure of himself. He then continued, speaking words no one thought he would say.
"I resign my position as Commander of the Chaos armies, relinquishing my place to Luke Castallen, Second in Command of the Chaos armies." He declared, completely sure of his choice.
