"Now Jade tell us what are you planning to study?"
"Jade?"
"JADE!!"
"Huh? What??"
"Mr. Wesley asked you a question don't be rude and answer it!"
I rolled my eyes at Petra as I annoyingly answered to Cedrics Father. "I'm looking into Accounting but it's not all settled yet". I continued to chase the peas with my fork as they rolled from one end of the plate to the other. Gosh how I dreaded these boring dinners and annoying topics. However my mind stayed occupied thinking about the sweet time I had spend with Landon just an hour ago. A smile formed on my face as I remembered his tender kisses that trailed from my mouth down to my neck and had surprisingly stopped right above my breast.
"I want to wait until we are married to finally make you mine completely Jade"
"Baby but I want you right now!"
"Haha you'll have to wait too..Trust me this isn't easy for me either"
"Keep giving me reasons to never let you go!"
I guess I was smiling a little too much maybe even blushing that I had gotten everyone's attention. When I noticed there was a brief silence I looked up and saw Petra giving me a fiery stare while my Father raised a suspicious eyebrow at me. A sudden cough from Cedrics Dad broke the awkward silence. "So maybe you'll work with us one day when you have graduated. I know Cedric would be more than delighted to have you work in the Company". I couldn't help but chuckle a bit as I felt Petra's big foot roughly hit my ankle underneath the table.
"I think that would be a great idea Leon. After all Jade will have to eventually find work and where better to start then in the most well known enterprise this entire city has..Don't you agree Peter?"
She looked at my Father waiting for him to agree with her. He gave me a look first as if trying to read me then he answered "Well all in its time don't you think?". I felt shocked as I heard him say that. My father Peter Carter was actually siding with me!? I couldn't believe it. Though I also couldn't help but rub it on Petra's face. So I gave her a victorious smirk Petra-0..Jade-1. "Excuse me everyone I'm not feeling very well. Father can I be excused?" I looked at Britney who seemed rather pale as she waited for my Dads approval. He nodded a yes with his head and she stood up to leave. I quickly got up and offered to help her to her room.
"I think she knows by now where her room is Jade. Please sit down this dinner is far from over". I ignored Petra's distasteful comment and glanced at my Father hoping he wouldn't agree. He nodded giving me the green light to escape that awful dinner for at least a couple minutes. So before he changed his mind I hurried behind Britney. "Hey are you alright?" I asked as we made it to her bedroom.
"Yeah I am..Go on and join them"
"Hell no! I rather wait until you get better..Look I can take a seat here"
"Jade...Stop making excuses and go downstairs"
"I don't want too though...Please! Please! Let me stay with you! Tell them you want me to watch over you"
"No..I can't.."
"Why??"
"Cause..Tonight's Dinner is....special for you"
"Special? What do you mean? I'm dying of boredom down there!"
