Chapter 9: Bells and Wine

Flynn's PoV

A veil smoothly flowed above my head. I raised my head up and took a look at my face on the mirror stared at it for a while.

This is it. Come on, Flynn, let's get this over with. After this ceremony, you're finally clearing your dad's debt.

Duke told me it will only be a simple wedding. Only our relatives and some of his invited people are attending. I couldn't tell Rome about it, and I feel a bit guilty. We'll just talk about it when I get the chance.

Of course, kahit anong "simple" ang sabihin ni Duke, this wedding wouldn't be. Reporters will surely swarm all over the place, capturing the "Duke Tan" in his wedding.

Having those last two days made me somehow forget that this moment would come. I was just laughing and joking with everyone. Sharing this "memorable" experience-to-be.

But it's time to take a reality check. For two years, matatali ako sa isang taong gusto lang tanggalin ang scandal na nagawa ko sa kanya, with a bonus of making his mother see that marriage and him are two things that can't be together.

I sighed. What else can I do? What's done is done.

"It's time to get the bride in the car. Nandoon na po ang lahat ng guest."

Tumango ako tsaka inayos ang dress na suot ko. Nina assisted me with everything since she's my bridesmaid.

And I saw my Mama crying.

"Alam kong hindi na dapat ako naiiyak dahil second time ko na 'to, but what can I do? Ikakasal na ang panganay ko. My daughter is already starting her own family."

"Aw, Mama."

I also can't help but get teary-eyed. I hugged my Mama and she let out a small cry.

If only this were true, baka naiyak na ako. Imagine, me, having my own family to go home to? That would be totally heartwarming and amazing.

Gosh, I feel very guilty. But do I have choice? Of course none.

I stared directly into her eyes then gave her a big smile.

"Ma naman, eh. 'Wag ka nang umiyak. Sige ka, papanget ka mamaya sa pictures." I joked.

Mama held my hand then gave me a sweet smile.

"Basta anak, just enjoy your married life, ha? I know Duke can make you happy. After all the hardships you went through, you really deserve a happy ending."

Ma, this is not the ending. Duke won't make me happy, and I may enjoy my married life, but it won't be because of him.

But rather than showing my true opinions, I gave Mama a heartily smile and held her hand and Nina's.
