Someone had finally done it

They managed to do the impossible

They put Minho in a bad mood

You woke up like every other day, got dressed brushed, your teeth, and went to the homestead for breakfast.

Everything seemed normal as you made your way through the homestead. Everyone was chatting and eating their breakfast all of the runners had left already it was normal.

You grabbed your food and sat down next to a tired chuck and a quiet newt.

"Morning guys" you greeted

"Hey y/n" they mumbled

"You seem more tired than normal" you point out to chuck.

"I had a bad dream and woke up couldn't fall asleep after that" he said with a big yawn

"What was the nightmare about" newt asked

"Everyone left the maze without me and I was here alone" chuck says picking at his food

You place your hand on his shoulder and give it a little squeeze.

"I can promise you that if we ever find a way out of this place no one is leaving you behind I will make sure of it" you tell him

Chuck smiles at you and starts to eat his food.

You and newt began a conversation while chuck just listens

"I don't think he is crazy" you tell newt and he looks at you with wide eyes.

"How he keeps telling people he sees things that aren't there and he hears and feels things too" newt argues talking about the newest greenie

"Well in one of the books I read recently the main character had a friend with a condition called schizophrenia. It caused his friend to see, hear, and feel things that aren't there because the chemicals in his brain are messed up. I think the greenie has it" you tell newt while shoveling eggs into your mouth

"okay but he still is seeing things that aren't there he is crazy" chuck says agreeing with newt

"We don't see it but he does he isn't crazy, he just can see things that we can't see because his brain is making it. He actually sees it." You argue.

"I guess that makes sense" newt says and chuck nods

"I just wonder what he sees Bec-" chuck is interrupted by the door to the homestead being slammed open.

In walks an irritated Doug, he is the one who usually runs with Minho. He has a black eye and a swollen lip.

Everyone stops talking and just stares at him.

He walks a few steps into the room before stopping and looking at everyone.

"QUIT STARING" he yells and everyone looks away and goes back to their conversation.
