20- "God I hope you're satisfied." (Ft. Corrin)

Sheik was walking down the street, wearing his customary sneaky outfit. Which is to say he was wearing a backwards baseball cap and fairly cheap plastic shades that he'd had for like forever. This was accompanied by a black sweatshirt and blue skinny jeans, and his ever present scarf of course. Overall, he looked really normal. Nobody could mistake him for the famous k-pop idol that he was.

...especially because he usually wore very flashy clothes when he was onstage. Or even on a livestream, because he tended to go for more flamboyant clothes than he'd normally wear to keep his disguise, well, a disguise. Zelda had once suggested that he dress up like her when he went out in public, to which he had severely protested against.

He entered the cafe where he'd agreed to meet Corrin and spotted his boyfriend almost immediately. Mostly because Corrin had barely even bothered to hide his distinctive silver hair. Internally, Sheik sighed. Still, he couldn't help but smile a bit when he saw him. His previous frustrations just kinda seemed less frustrating in that moment. Corrin tended to have that effect on him.

"Hey. How are you?" Corrin asked as Sheik sat down across from him.

"Well. That's an interesting question." Sheik sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.

Corrin winced. "I'm sorry."

"You don't need to apologize, really. I'm just..." Sheik waved his hand vaguely instead of finishing his sentence.

"Robin bothering you again?"

Sheik didn't even need to answer that. It was obvious, really. But he didn't like dwelling on the situation he found himself in for too long, otherwise he just made himself upset and he really didn't need that right now. So of course he just deflected the question with a noncommittal shrug. "It is what it is."

For a moment, Corrin looked like he was going to say something else about it, but he just closed his eyes briefly and leaned back in his chair. "I would've told you sooner, but the company explicitly told me to stay quiet about my decision until they made it public."

"I know. It's not your fault."

"You're right, though. It's usually considered common sense to give more than a week's worth of warning before moving to a whole new country."

An awkward silence settled over the two of them.

"So. Now that we've established that, is there anything else you want to tell me?" Sheik asked, trying to keep his voice neutral.

"How many years do you have left on your contract?"

"Four, barring any extensions." Sheik responded. He had a feeling he knew where this conversation was going, and he really didn't like it.

"The move to New York is probably permanent. I assume you know what that would mean for our relationship." Corrin's voice was barely above a whisper at this point.

"Are you breaking up with me?"

Corrin's silence told him basically everything he needed to know.

"If this is because you think I can't handle a long-distance relationship for an extended period of time, please reconsider this."

"It's not that." Corrin finally said. "I just don't think it's a good idea for me to keep dating you."

Ouch.

"Care to explain?" Sheik asked dryly.

"I'm leaving the industry because I'm sick of all the drama. I don't enjoy performing for the fans anymore, and that's the main reason why I started in the first place. Yes, it's ironic that I'm going into musical theater instead. But I truly do believe it'll be better for me overall. And I don't want to place unnecessary stress on you, so I think it would be better if I just ended this." Corrin replied.
