(Later That Night)

"One of us! One of us!" The Knights chanted as Jack chugged a beer. He tapped the bottom of the can to get any leftover liquid. He threw his arms up into the air, the can being tossed to the ground. Randall gave him a high five with a wide smile on his face. Jack wiped his mouth with his sleeve, coughing slightly. I chuckled at his expression. He jumped from the sudden hit from Lilith. She congratulated him before plopping on the chair.

She swung her legs over the armrest, her hands behind her head. I sat down on the couch and took another sip of my water. Randall joined me, bringing his arm around my shoulders. Hamish resumed his cocktail-making. He poured some liqueur into a shot glass. "Y/N, this is for you," he said. I stole a glimpse at Randall, who motioned for me to stand up. I sighed and walked over to the small bar.

Hamish waved the shot glass in front of my face, coaxing me to grab it from him. I rolled my eyes at his action. "You wanted to be a knight, right?" he said. "I thought I couldn't, given that I'm not a werewolf," I said, grabbing the shot glass from him. "You can be the first then," Hamish said. I moved the glass around and smelled the drink. He kept looking at me with raised brows. Randall got up from the couch, making his way over to me.

He set his hands on my shoulders, shaking me slightly despite me holding a filled shot. My new friends began to shout 'do it' over and over again. I drank the alcohol in one sip, immediately setting it down on the bar. Like Jack, I wiped my mouth with my sleeve. "That wasn't that bad, now was it?" Randall said, leaning to the side so he could look at me. I laughed and coughed at the strong taste.

"Now, let's kick some evil ass!" Randall yelled.

(The Next Day)

The Knights and I all sat in the living room, reading books and or doing our own thing. Jack and I sat beside each other while I finished up my Biology project. There was a long gap of silence before Jack spoke up. "Hey," he said. Our attention was brought away from what we were doing. He asked if there was anything that we should be doing. "Jack, we can't go all Justice League till our spidey senses tingle," Randall waved his hands around as he spoke.

Randall received glares from both me and Hamish. "You've got to be kidding me?" I rolled my eyes. "What did I tell you? You can't mix DC with Marvel," Hamish said. I pointed at him in agreeance. Randall huffed in annoyance, bringing his eyes back to his textbook. Just then, the knights all winced in pain, reaching for their heads.

"What's wrong?" I asked, looking at each of them. Jack leaned forward with his elbows resting on his knees. He massaged the sides of his head. I patted him on the shoulder, earning a pat on my hand. Jack explained that whenever The Order was using magic, they all got a ringing sound. He stood up from the couch, stating, "We've got to do something." Hamish huffed and closed the book he was reading.

While the Knights were getting ready, I grabbed my bow and arrow and the bag of arrows from the front of the den. I fixed the strap around my shoulder, but as I was standing up, I saw a brown journal lying at the corner of the entranceway. There was a layer of dust on the ground cover. It was bound with a white piece of string. At the top corner, a name was engraved: Midnight. "Huh," I muttered. Before I could admire the book even further, Randall tapped on the window.
