(Third Person View)

The Knights drove up to the Werewolf den with Alyssa in the front seat with Jack. They all hadn't spoken since the death of Pete Morton. The chirping of the birds filled the silence between the members. "Why didn't he kill us?" Randall asked, breaking the silence. "He's saving us for target practice," Hamish said as he bowed his head. Jack took the keys out of the car, holding them in his hand. "We should probably-" Randall started, but Hamish interrupted.

"Give him space, great idea," Hamish patted him on the shoulder, then hopped off of the blue truck's bed. "I was thinking more like a group hug," Randall hopped off the bed. The two Knights walked into the den while Jack and Alyssa stayed in the car. Alyssa watched the two walk inside, hesitant to follow them. "Why was he there?" Jack stared into space, "What was he thinking?"

"He was trying to save you," Alyssa said, "Jack..." He sighed, looking away from the girl. He scanned his eyes across the green grass. He didn't want to talk about it, but part of him knew that he'd eventually have to. "Just forget the Tao of Pete for once," Alyssa said. Jack looked at her and reached over. He unlocked the car door for her.

"Pops was the only family I ever had, and now he's gone."

"If you go back there, you'll die."

"Well, as long as Edward dies first."

"Why does it have to be revenge?"

"Why are you trying to protect him?" Jack questioned, grasping the wheel with anger. Alyssa gasped as she saw the wheel get crushed. "I'm sorry," Jack said, his eyes returning back to blue. "I'm trying to protect you," Alyssa said, "There's another way to stop him. There's got to be. We'll find it together, okay?" Morton nodded his head. Alyssa looked away and sighed.

"I'm not getting out of this truck until you do," the Blonde girl said. Jack nodded his head and handed the keys to Alyssa. He opened the car door and left her sitting there. Jack pushed open the doors to the den, Randall and Hamish stood in front of him. "Jack, I'm so sorry about your grandfather," Randall said.

"Let's just not talk about it," Jack said, looking up from the ground.

"Okay," Hamish sighed, "Let's talk about Y/N and Lilith. Where are they?"

"Lilith wolfed out, and Y/N helped. They were buying me time to escape," Alyssa answered. "And then?" Randall asked, shaking his head slightly. Alyssa sighed, "I don't know."

"I'll check Lilith's hide locker," Randall said and walked down to the basement. Anxiety filled the Pre-med student as he worried about the two people he cared about the most. Hamish waited till Randall left. He looked at Alyssa.

"What were you thinking? We had a plan," Hamish said, looking back at Jack like it was his fault. Maybe they never had a chance at beating Edward? Maybe it was always going to be like that. "Alyssa was in danger. I had to help her. That alright with you?" Jack said.

"No, because you keep doing whatever you wanna do, and people end up dead," Hamish pointed at him. The door opened, and Randall joined the three again. "Lilith's hide isn't there," He informed.

"Or missing, just as bad," Hamish added, throwing his hands up in the air. "The point is, how many more people need to die because of you?" Hamish continued. "Only one more," Jack said. Jack left the group and walked into the living room. Randall, Hamish, and Alyssa shook their heads, confused as to what the boy meant.

"Look, Jack," Hamish started. "I know we have to focus on killing Coventry," Jack interrupted. "We have to rescue Y/N and Lilith first," Randall said. "I care about them too, but we need to get that book away from Edward," Alyssa said, turning around to face the TA and Pre-med student.
