It's him.
James. He was the only person who I thought was my friend. We used to be friends in middle school, but he got close to me to get to Bea. We were like best friends. Then he started to hang out with Bea and he stopped talking to me. I realized that no one wanted to be friends with. They only wanted to be with Bea.
"What are you doing here." I snap.
He looks down. I grab Troy's hand and he squeezes it.
"I wanted to talk to you...alone." He said quietly.
I shake my head.
"No." I yell.
I run upstairs and into my room. Tears start to form. I hear a knock on my door. I sit on my bed and don't say anything.
Troy opens my door with James following. I look down and wait for Troy to come and hug me.
"Hey it's okay." Troy says and hugs me from behind.
I quickly shake my head no.
"Can I please talk to you, Carolina? Troy can stay with you." James said.
I nod.
"Look Carolina, I never wanted to stop being friends. Bea used to----say stuff about you. She said that you hated being around me. She said she would never hurt me. I stopped talking to you because I didn't want to bother you. I want to just be friends again." He said with his hands in his pockets.
All this time Bea made my 'friends' not like me. How- why- when? I think about this. I lay my head down on Troy's chest. I close my eyes and just think.
"I promise I just want to be friends again. I miss hanging out in the woods." James said.
Floods of memories wreck in my mind. We used to be super close.
"You should answer him." Troy whispered in my ear.
I nod slightly.
"You should of asked me if I didn't want to hang out with you. I thought it was me the whole time. It happened everytime I tried to have a friend. How do you think I felt when you just stopped talking to me completely? It is a horrible feeling. I got depressed for your imformation." I say with a tear slipping down my cheek.
I turn around hind my face in Troy's chest. He rubs my back trying to calm me down. I sob in his chest.
"I'm so sorry Carolina. I mean that." James says quietly.
I look up at him. He looks blurring in my eyes.
"You mean that?" I ask.
"Yes." He replies.
I get up and walk over to him.
"I swear James if you stop talking to me without us fighting, I'll kill you." I say with a tiny grin.
"Okay. I swear I won't stop being your friend." He said with a smile.
We both hug and then let go.
"You want to know something funny?" Troy asked as I made my way back to him.
"Sure." I simply say.
"James and I are cousins." Troy says with a smirk.
A confused expression goes across my face. They are cousins?
"You're kidding right?" I ask them both.
I look back and forth to him and James. They both have smirks and they are nodding.
"Wow." I say breathless.
"Yeah so how about we go out for pizza and catch up on life." James suggest.
Troy and I nod together.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are currently laughing with our hands clenching our stomachs. James told us an story about the time he was with his friends fishing. He said that his friend caught a catfish, a giant one. James was helping him unhook it. When they unhooked it, they wanted a picture. James was to be in it since he helped with unhooking it. His friend didn't want James to be in the picture. His friend started to slap him with the fish. He hit him in the face. James and his friend fell into the pond and the fish got away.
"That's---so---funny." I say through my breaths.
"Hey! The fish hurt my face!" James whined.
Troy almost fell on the floor from laughing. That made me even laugh harder. The waitress came with our pizza. James was the only one who wasn't laughing, so he said thank you to the girl. She was about my age. I think James likes her.
We eat our pizza after Troy's and my laugh attack. This is the best pizza in town. It's sauce and dough are to die for.
"How is this pizza so good?" Troy said breathless.
"I have no idea but I need our waitress's number." James said with a smirk.
"Ah! James has a crush, James has a hug." Troy and I sung.
A little hint of red appears on his cheek. He is blushing!
We ate the whole pizza. I guess we were really hungry. We wait for the waitress. Troy and I pretend to be in a serious conversation as James made his move.
"So your name is Sarah. That's a beautiful name for such a beautiful women. I peak a little sight of them.
Sarah's blushing at the comment.
"Thank you." She said and tucked a straind of hair behind her ear.
"Would you like to go out sometime?" James asked her.
Her eyes widen.
"I would love to! Let me give you my number." She said and got a pen a piece of paper out of her pocket.
She wrote down her number and gaves us the check. We all gave some money to pay the dinner off. We walk out of the pizza place.
"James got the girl!" Troy said and rested his arm on James's shoulder.
"Oh yeah! Where should I take her to dinner?" He asked.
I think about it.
"You could go see a movie and then go this fancy place in town." I suggested.
James's face lighten up.
"That's perfect! Thank you so much Carolina." James beamed.
We walk back to my house. The pizza place wasn't far from my neighborhood. As we start to walk, it started to rain. Not like a drizzle, like pouring down rain. We try to run but that was a fail. We start to walk again and laugh at how weird we looked. Our hair was probably soaked down.
Once we got to my house, James rushed inside because he had to pee really bad. He isn't afraid to tell us he had to pee. Troy and I stay outside in the rain. He leans down and kisses me, like in movies.
It sounds cheesy but it's the best feeling in the world to kiss you true love.
