Troy hasn't returned any of my texts. Well I've called him four times and texted him more than twenty.

Please let him be okay...

The voice is back.

No

No

It can't be back.

I pace around my room. My hair is a mess from me running my fingers through the bangs.

I let out a sigh.

My heart races waiting for Troy to at least say he's okay.

My phone buzzes notifying that someone texted.

Troy.

He is calling.

I answer less than a second.

"Are you okay?" I ask quickly.

"Yes." He simply says.

He sounds angry.

"Why didn't you tell me or text me at least!" I say as my voice rises at the end.

"I don't know." He replies.

Is he serious right now?

"I'll see you when I get home." He says and hangs up.

I let a sigh.

I don't know why but tears start to sting in my eyes.

He has never gotten mad at me. Troy never used that tone with me.

It reminds me of my father.

My heart drops.

Memories, oh so horrible memories flow into my head like a hurricane.

My father yells, hitting, punching me.

Tears, hot tears rush out of my eyes.

I choke on a sob.

I'm sob; my legs are numb; I'm on the floor.

My body curls up into a ball.

Sobbing, tears flowing.

I hear my window open.

My eyes stay at the ground.

Troy's hand touches my arm, I flinch. I can't help it.

"What's wrong?" Troy asked concernedly.

My voice is gone.

"Carolina? Did someone hurt you? Did you do something." He is referring to the cutting.

I gasp just thinking about the cutting.

"Please Carolina. Say something. I need to know what is the matter." Troy says softly.

"My father. You sounded like my father on the phone." I whisper.

His hand is off of my arm.

I feel is strong arms picking me up like I'm a feather.

"I what?" He asked.

"You sounded like my father on the phone." I say more clearly.

I feel him tense up.

"Oh my god," He says, "Carolina. I'm so so sorry. I was just mad because I didn't have that good of a practice." He said to me.

Boys and their sports. Why do they get so mad?

I sob into his chest.

He rubs my back, trying to comfort me in some way.

"It's okay. You need to sleep. We have school tomorrow." He whispers.
