the next two weeks weren't as hard as i expected them to be. if we're being honest, i didn't even need two weeks. after i talked to jasmine and jordan, there wasn't anything left to do. i had put all of that behind me, and i felt a million times lighter. i guess i thought i would need more time to work up the courage to talk to them both, to be the bigger person and move on. i don't know why i spent so much time stressing myself out.

things with me and roddy have been amazing. i really appreciated how patient he was being with me. he would come and bring me flowers to my job or wake up earlier than he usually would to take me to breakfast. we would spend the night at each other's houses and cook for each other. roddy can really throw down in the kitchen, i don't know why i wasn't expecting that. either way, i was really starting to catch feelings for this boy. he treats me like a princess and never wants to leave my side. he gives me whatever i want and he makes playlists for me? oh yeah, i wanna marry him. i can't wait to finally be his girlfriend.

did i mention we started leaving toothbrushes at each other's house?

the clock hit noon and i finished up with my last patient of the day. i took my last set of test tubes to the lab and retreated to the locker room to get my purse. i looked around. hmm, no flowers today. i thought to myself as i started to leave the hospital. i wasn't too messed up about the flowers, but i found it weird when i saw that roddy hadn't texted me either. he was probably still asleep, so i chose to ignore. i got in my car and drove home in silence, vibing to don toliver. while i sat in traffic, i looked down as my music slowly started to fade to see roddy facetiming me. i smiled and answered it. i propped my phone up on the dashboard. "hey." i said.

he smiled back at me. "how was your day gorgeous?" he asked.

"kinda boring but it's better now. how about yours?" traffic slowly started to clear. i sped up a little bit. for the rest of my ride home, we just talked about my morning. nothing exciting, but i enjoyed his company. i pulled up to my house and parked my car.

"let's go out tonight. i wanna take you out." he told me.

i walked into the house and dropped my bag and my keys. "what you got in mind?" i sat down on the couch. i yawned absentmindedly, i didn't even realize i was tired. "before you tell me, can you come over and take a nap with me?" i asked and batted my eyelashes at him. he just laughed at me.

"of course i can. i'm on my way." i watched as he got up and started to get ready to come over. i stayed on the phone with him until he got in his car, then i got up and changed out of my scrubs into some grey sweatpants and a white tank top. i tried to stay awake until he made it here, but it was getting really hard to do. the doorbell rang just as my eyes closed. i jumped up and ran downstairs to open the door, jumping into roddy's arms. he bent down to kiss me before walking inside and kicking off his shoes. he immediately went upstairs to my room and i followed. it was so funny to me how comfortable he had become with my house. he laid down on the left side of my bed and looked at me. "so here's the plan for tonight," he started as i climbed into his lap, "the carnival is in town, so i think we should go. unless you're opposed to it." he instinctively placed his hands on my thighs and started to caress them. i shook my head and motioned for him to keep talking. i tried to focus on what he was saying, but i kept getting lost in his eyes. lord this boy is gorgeous, i thought to myself as i absentmindedly played with his shirt. i wonder if he randomly thinks stuff like that about me in his head. "so we get something eat, hit up the carnival, then walk on the beach?"

i smiled and nodded. "i love that. i'm down. so when we getting up? cause i'm tired as shit right now." i climbed off of him and laid my head down on my pillow. he checked the time on his phone. it was 1:30.
