Shouto released his flames at the same time as Eli's. Their flames meet at the center, their flares overtaking each other as Eli proceeds with her strategy.
"Look at those flames!!! The scorching he-"
"Wait, Present Mic." Aizawa cuts off his colleague.
Present Mic turns to him. "Eh? Why?"
Aizawa takes his time to see the fight unfold for himself. He doesn't know if things will end well or badly.
"Aizawa, should we stop them?" A person from his earpiece asked him, worried present in their voice.
Aizawa places a finger on the piece. "Hold on, I'm still not sure if they'll end this sooner."
At the center of the arena, as Todoroki's view was flooded with flames and fires, Eli takes the chance to jump into her own flame. She removes her hand, but was still controlling the scorching flame she used to attack, and lunges to the center where the two flames meet.
As Present Mic turns back to the field, he didn't notice that Akimoto was already gone. "Akimoto?! She jumped in the flames!!!"
"What?!" Shouto widens his eyes in disbelief. He didn't stop his flame though, he waited for something to happen, an opening for him to distract her.
And there it was, Eli jumped out of her flame like she was falling from thin air. Her glowing yellow eyes– that were once orange– met Shouto's mismatched eyes.
Did you think I would overlook that? Shouto, out of nowhere, removes the flames in under a second, then replacing it with ice that will stop Eli midair.
Ice?! Out of nowhere?! Eli couldn't process this and activate her Godspeed while this was happening, only because that when the ice gets to her, she won't be able to melt the ice since the motionless world would be freezing in itself.

"Todoroki successfully entraps her!!! What a comeback!!"
Eli from the chest down was unable to move, even her hands were stuck in the ice as she tries her best to quickly melt the ice using her own body heat.
Come on, come on!
Shouto got her where he wanted her. The moment he encased her in ice, he dashes behind her, using his right side to take him to Eli's side of the field.
Eli squirms, unaware that Shouto began to execute his next attack.
Craap! I can't melt-
