[ Special Chapter ]

"There's nothing crueler than letting a dream end midway."

Eli walks into her home, warm, empty, and fairly quiet. She still couldn't get over what happened tonight. It was like everything was finally falling into place.

Everything was finally perfect.

Or so she thought.

A hand pressed to her chest as she contains a whimper. By now her heart was thumping to the point it made her head dizzy. All that she could now remember were the words Araide had told her last time.

'Your flames are beginning to continuously heat up in your organs without you realizing.'

Eli panted, breathing in her mouth as she takes a step forward, wanting to climb up to her bed and let the night end. "I'm fine..." But crap, this hurts so much.

'It seems like your heart is badly affected by it.'

"I'm fine," She tells herself again. She puts her right palm on her forehead, dragging it down to her mouth as if she was holding back vomit.

"Eicchan?" Her mother, Hikaru, walks in from the kitchen. "Ah, you're home!" She lights up. She was wearing her usual black office glasses and holding her laptop, Eli guessed that she was still catching up on some work. "So? What happened tonight?"

Eli looks at her and felt some of the weight on her chest disappeared. "So much happened." She breathes out, "I can't wait to tell you all about it," She says in a soft voice.

Hikaru gave her a quick smile as she plops down to the accent chair near the living room. "Well, I can't wait to hear all about it." She takes off her glasses for a bit, "How about you go shower upstairs while I make you some ramen, then we'll talk about it. Hmm?" She chatted.

Eli exhales, a tired look on her face as she nodded. "Okay, I'll be a few." She began her walk upstairs to her bathroom.

She walks over to the bottom of the stairs, seeing some of Haru's toys scattered on the floor. There were metal cars, wooden building blocks, and small action figures that belonged to the little kid.

The girl sighs as she drags her heavy eyes to the top of the stairs, letting her right hand glide over the railings and help her move up.
