The next three weeks were hell.

The only people she was allowed to talk to were: Todoroki, Aizawa, All Might, sometimes Nezu if he was sitting around the teachers' lounge. It was quite– nope, not quite– always awkward whenever All Might try to cheer Akimoto up. Because the truth was, she can't. A small smirk or a small smile was the only evidence of happiness she could give.

Was she happy? Nope. Did she enjoy the isolation? Definitely not.

It goes as it usually does, as Akimoto thought. She goes to school to meet up with Todoroki in the locker rooms and lets him escort her to class. During lectures, she voluntarily listened to the teachers' lessons and took down notes– most of the time.

Kaminari and the group heard from Aizawa himself that they should give Akimoto some space as she was still recovering.

Recovering. That never sat well with Bakugou. Speaking the truth, it didn't look like the girl was 'recovering' like they say she is. The ash-blond saw her every day with a frown on her face while she keeps her head down. Something he knew that Akimoto does not do when she's 'recovering'.

Writing down on the piece of paper that Akimoto was involuntarily doing, she felt the room go cold and caused her to rub her arm up and down. Why the sudden change of room temperature? She looks around to see if Todoroki was doing it, but he was just minding his own business. She shook it off when she realized that maybe it was just a gust of wind when Aizawa came in.

"We'll start in ten minutes. Study while you can." That was all that he said.

Yes, it was finals week. Akimoto groaned inwardly when she got distracted. She was doing well in solving this quadratic function problem. "Stupid function. Stupid vertex." She mumbled to herself.

Aizawa checks his watch again before he walked out of class. "Once I'm back, we'll start right away."

Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero all stood up to their seats and continued to knock each others' heads off– which they were apparently doing when Akimoto wasn't looking? "Last day of written exams, then on to the final practical exam!" The redhead fist-pumped the air in joy. "Then after that... the training camp!"

Sero sat back down as he stared at Kirishima with a timid look. "You do know that the ones who won't pass the practical exam won't be able to attend the camp right?"

Kaminari slammed the top of Sero's table at the thought of them failing. "Us?! Failing?! Ha!" He extends his arms out to kind of, present himself. "This pretty face won't fail! Right, Aki?!–" He covered his mouth in an instant.

Akimoto slowly drags her tired eyes to the guys. "Huh?" She was a bit flustered when Kaminari mentioned her. Prior to this, they've only interacted a couple of times when he was near Bakugou's table. "If someone's gonna fail..." She drops her head down, "It's probably gonna be me–"

"Well, I beg to disagree, dear." Yao-Momo interrupts from the back. "Didn't you see your midterm results?"

To which Akimoto replied with a quick shrug before going back to her own work. "Eh... did I fail?"
