"it's just the first day of our agreement yet you already failed?! unbelievable" doyoung's shout rang through donghyuck's room as he barged in angrily.
he knew that donghyuck 'accidentally' punched aeyoung since jeno, being the good boy he is, told doyoung the story, he didn't want to put aeyoung in any more danger so he did what had to be done and it made doyoung enraged.
"you do know that i don't give a fuck right?" donghyuck retorted, making doyoung more furious.
"donghyuck open your eyes! i helped you before why don't you help me now?" he said while holding onto donghyuck's collar and shaking him up.
he had helped donghyuck a lot of times and didn't ask for anything in return, he was just looking out for his sister, that's why he wanted to convince donghyuck into protecting aeyoung.
"because i'm the leader, i should be the one to order you guys around" donghyuck answered as doyoung let go of him while panting.
"being a leader doesn't mean that you should make your members suffer donghyuck. you should be the one teaching them! guiding them! not letting them do your work, i think that you're not ready to be a leader. i don't even know why taeyong gave his title to you, such a waste" he said and he turned around, preparing to leave.
"that shows that i'm powerful" donghyuck snickered, he was at loss for words, he was speechless. everything doyoung stated was true and it reflected on his life.
"no hyuck" doyoung paused, "that shows that you can't be trusted"
doyoung sighed as soon as he exited the room, he didn't want to hurt donghyuck's feelings but he then realized that donghyuck needs to learn, he should be open-minded and considerate, so he said what he had just said.
meanwhile, donghyuck was now throwing a tantrum, he tossed and flipped everything that was seen, he doesn't like it whenever his members were mad at him, he treated them as family, well he was the boss of the family.
he guessed that maybe he was just the only one who was thinking of it as a family, maybe the others felt pressured and he just wanted to make it right.
he then walked out of his room and went to the garden, where he finds peace and his stress reliever.
this garden was memorable, it held a lot of memories such as the times where they were complete, when maybe hadn't moved to china and they were all together, the times when he was happy.
the times when they were complete, when his heart was full. but that was a long time ago, they were now separated and thanks to haewon, two units conjoined with each other.
that was all he remembered, the other parts of his memories were blurry and he didn't know why.
he then saw a figure, a girl and she was sitting on the bench, staring at the stars.
she was pretty in his eyes, he considered her as the prettiest girl he had ever seen but he was too weak to even notice this, he was in denial and clueless.
"what are you doing here?" donghyuck asked as he saw haewon, he wanted to say sorry so badly to her.
"oh hey donghyuck, are you okay?" haewon greeted as she gave out her cute and infamous gummy smile.
"i should be the one asking you that?" donghyuck stated as he sat beside haewon and haewon froze, she didn't expect this to happen.
"why would you ask me?" she said in a soft voice, turning her gaze on the stars that twinkled and blinked. it looked pretty, it was peaceful, she thought.
"because i hurt you" he said as his look softened when he saw haewon looking up on the clouds.
"when? i don't recall any memory of you hurting me?" haewon tried to avoid the topic since she didn't really want to talk about it.
"when i punched you" he stated, the intimidation in his voice toning down.
"oh that. it doesn't pain me. but if you told me that you did it on purpose i'd be really hurt" she was lying, it hurt like hell but she didn't want to make it obvious so that he wouldn't feel bad.
"i was out of my mind, please hate me" donghyuck and haewon quickly turned her gaze on the boy who was now looking down at his feet.
"and that gives me another reason on why i shouldn't hate you" she said, desiring to comfort donghyuck.
"but why? i'm so rude, i'm so arrogant, i'm so...bad" he said but it didn't really pass for haewon. hate is such a strong word, haewon would only hate someone if they truly know their heart and desire, as for donghyuck, he didn't, he doesn't know what his heart wants and he doesn't have a clue on what he truly desires.
"but that doesn't give me a reason on why i should hate you. why do you love being feared donghyuck? why do you want me to hate you?" she asked, donghyuck was trying to convince haewon into hating him for what he foolishly did.
"all i know is hate. i don't know what love feels like, haewon" haewon's look softened when she stared at donghyuck's eyes, all she saw was an emotionless soul but deep inside there was a tiny bit of love, ready to roam around and evolve.
"then let me show you" she said, not thinking clearly. she wanted to love him dearly as a friend.
"what do you mean?" donghyuck asked as he looked at haewon, confusion drawn on his face.
"let me help you feel how it is being loved" haewon said, she wanted to make donghyuck feel the emotion as well, she wanted it to grow and evolve. it would teach him how to love and to be loved.
"how would you do that?" he asked, wondering on how was haewon gonna do the thing she proposed.
"let me love you"
