"i told you to not go to school" donghyuck said as haewon woke up in her room. she sighed, did she wake up to get nagged on?

"well sorry squidward i didn't want to miss any of my classes today" she answered, not even caring about the way he glared at her and she just wore a smug smile. donghyuck then narrowed his eyes on her.

"what did you call me?" he asked, still narrowing his eyes towards the girl as she chuckled lightly.

"ew stop chuckling i hate the sound" donghyuck said and haewon just chuckled loudly, doing the opposite of what he says.

donghyuck was full of it. so he turned around and faced the exit of her room and haewon's smile slowly dropped when she noticed what he was doing.

"thank you" she said out of the blue and donghyuck turned around, surprised.

"for what?" he asked and haewon gaver her gummy smile, it was the cutest but of course, not one thing is cute for donghyuck.

"for caring for me," she looked at donghyuck before continuing her statement "for bringing me here?"

donghyuck sighed and got hold of the door before opening his mouth to say something.

"don't expect too much. i only did it for doyoung hyung and mark hyung" he said before he left and haewon just kept her head down. she doesn't know why this odd feeling is spreading through her. she just knew that she was hurt.

"i always end up hurting myself whenever i talk to him"

it's now the next morning and haewon woke up, she wasn't feeling sick anymore and her day seems bright.

"let's start and end this day without being sad" she said to herself. she was also excited because today was their first day of practicing for prom. she wanted to be close to donghyuck and maybe this is her chance.

she quickly did her morning routine and dressed up. she was excited for this, well too excited.

her excitement caused her to trip and almost fall on the stairs.

expecting that she's gonna crash to the ground, she sealed her eyes close and waited for the impact. but instead of her crashing down, she felt someone tugging her shirt from behind.

"oh god you're really clumsy aren't you? plus why are you even going to school?" donghyuck scoffed, he was really annoyed, he didn't want to start his day like this.

"i'm sorry i'm just clumsy naturally plus i'm a lot better now" she replied as she faced donghyuck.

when she faced him, her heart pounded and its beating was rapid. she was too nervous since their faces were inches apart.

realizing what was happening, she looked at everything. everything except his eyes. donghyuck noticed this and his lips made a smug smirk.

"why are you so flustered?" he asked, removing the tug on her shirt. but then he placed his arm on her back and pulled her closer.

haewon was still avoiding his gaze and smirk, she didn't want her heart to flutter.

but it did.

donghyuck was being reckless and he liked it. he likes playing with her feelings, not even knowing his feelings for the girl.

it seemed odd. donghyuck wasn't the type to flirt or just be reckless. he never liked girls.

he despised girls.

and he didn't know why. his past was yet to be uncovered but for the time being, he's enjoying his life as a gang leader.

haewon focused and gathered her remaining wits and confidence. she looked at donghyuck and stared through his eye. her gaze piercing through his soul.

soon, donghyuck felt uncomfortable. and so, he abruptly pushed haewon. she was about to fall off the stairs but luckily, mark catched her.

"what the fuck are you doing to me?" donghyuck retorted, he was trembling in angst and he didn't know why. her gaze, her stare, it saw everything.

everything he hid, everything he wanted to keep as a secret.

and everything he felt.

emotions.

he despised emotions and he would always look cold outside. but deep down, he was dying inside. he was dying to know his past.

what happened to him, what happened during his past, did he fall in love?

these questions remain unsolved and it has been years. he doesn't even know why he forgot. the only people who knew about this were kun and taeyong. and they weren't telling donghyuck anything.

soon, he went back up to his room after shooting a deadly glare at haewon.

haewon wasn't scared. yes, she was shocked by his actions but worry took over her.

he seemed scared, he seemed confused and yet, he acted out like it was nothing. his eyes were like concrete walls but haewon made her way through.

no one other than haewon saw his emotions, they all thought that donghyuck wouldn't care, that he was stone cold forever.

but when she saw donghyuck's eyes, they were filled with nothing but sorrow, danger, and anger. she didn't find a glimpse of happiness. it was dull, it was lifeless, and it had no colours.

and that's when haewon knew that she needs to make donghyuck happy.

"i'll bring colors to your life donghyuck. even if you push me, push me with your hardest. i'll still try my best to make you happy"

i'll still try my best to make you happy"
