49. The Earth King

Yozora's POV

I was immediately crushed by my blue scaled friend who got out of Sokka's pocket and grew big in excitement. I fell on my butt and laughed, "I missed you so much, Ookami!" I hugged my companion.

Aang was embracing Appa, happy upon reuniting with him. "I missed you more than you'll ever know, buddy." Momo flew into Appa to hugged him too, making the bison lick Aang.

Sokka and I approached Katara and Toph. "Look, we escaped from the Dai Li. We got Appa and Zora back. I'm telling you, we should go to the Earth King now and tell him our plan. We're on a roll."

"One good hour after weeks of trouble isn't much of a roll." Katara said.

"We can build on it. If we want to invade the Fire Nation when the eclipse happens, we'll need the Earth King's support." Sokka said.

"The eclipse? What's happening at the eclipse?" I asked.

"During the eclipse, the fire benders won't have their bending for few minutes. That's when we attack with the help of the Earth King." Sokka explained.

"That's great!" I smiled excitedly. Toph spoke, "But what makes you think we'll get the Earth King's support? I don't know if you've noticed, but things don't usually go that smoothly for our little gang."

"I know, but I've got a good feeling about this. This time will be different." Sokka said. "Sokka, Long Feng is in control of the city. His conspiracy with the Dai Li is too powerful. I think we should just keep flying and leave this horrible place behind us." Katara said.

"I'm with Sweetness. I've seen enough of Ba Sing Se." Toph raised her arms and opened eyes wide. "And I can't even see!"

"But now that we have Appa and Yozora back, there's nothing stopping us from telling the Earth King the truth. About the conspiracy and the War." Aang said flying over to us.

"See? Aang's with me." Sokka put his arm around Aang and smiles. "It's the whole reason we came here in the first place. We have to try."

"We should. I hope we can get the King's support. We need my tribe's and his nation's help to defeat the fire lord too" i said determinedly.

Katara thought or a moment. "Well, I guess if the Earth King knew the truth, things could change." Sokka, Aang and I smiled happily.

Toph stood up, "I don't trust the new positive Sokka." she pointed at Sokka in an accusing manner, "Long Feng brainwashed you, didn't he!?"

I turned my head and noticed a few ships in the lake. I think the others did too.

"That's probably the Dai Li searching for us." Sokka turned to Katara. "So?"

"Let's fly!" Katara said determinedly.

We fly toward the Palace, now with no saddle, holding onto Appa's fur for dear life, especially Toph.

"Can we please buy a new saddle?" Toph yelled. "Riding bareback is terrifying!" she said as she buried her face in Appa's back.

We got closer to the palace. "There it is! That whole thing is the palace! The Earth King's chamber should be in the center!" Sokka said.

"We have to be careful. Long Feng's probably warned the king that we're coming." Katara said.

"Why would you assume that? If you ask me, I think we're just gonna sail right in and-" A giant rock almost hit us, " Aahh!" Sokka screamed.

"What was that?" Toph asked.

"Surface-to-air rocks!" Sokka replied. I saw more being launched. "More incoming!" I yelled.
