Chapter Nine
——————————————
A Kiss Is Just a Kiss

"I just don't understand, I have so much to offer a man, why can't I get the right kind of man interested in me? What the fuck am I missing?" Quiava asked Jatavia.

Jean couldn't resist the open door she had thrown him and stepped into the doorway, leaning against the frame casually before saying snidely, "A personality?"

Jatavia covered her mouth as she giggled.

Quiava glared at him from the sofa and took a sip of her drink, preventing herself from even acknowledging his comment.

Jean winked at Jatavia, before walking away.

"I swear I don't understand why Maddox keeps him around," Quiava said.

"He's cute and entertaining," Jatavia said.

Maddox walked into his office and over to the bar, got a glass for himself, picked up the bottle of whiskey poured himself a glass, and walked back over to his desk.

He raised an eyebrow at Quiava as she glared at him.

"What the hell is your problem?" Maddox asked.

"That hoe you hired is messing with the enemy," Quiava answered.

"Quiava, you need to relax," Maddox said.

"Why the hell are you not freaking out? She could be telling him all of your business." Quiava said.

Jatavia just took a sip of her drink, knowing that it was best to stay out of this drama.

Quiava stood up and walked over to Maddox's desk, she put her hands on the back of her hips, consciously pushing her chest out practically into Maddox's face.

Maddox glared at Quiava.

"Watch your tone, Quiava," Jatavia muttered.

A forceful knock on his office's door made Maddox jerk his head towards the door.

Before he was able to tell the person to come in, the door sprang open and Cardi strutted in.

"Hello, Maddox," Cardi said as she hopped upon the corner of Maddox's large desk with her legs crossed.

Quiava rolled her eyes.

"What do you need?" Maddox asked Cardi.

Jatavia stood up and walked next to Quiava and looked at Cardi.

"This is Cardi?" Jatavia asked.

Quiava nodded.

"Okay, I can see why you feel threatened," Jatavia said.

"JT shut up," Quiava said, pouting.

"Anyways, your son just asked me to teach him how to kiss," Cardi said.

Maddox sighed.

"What did you say to him?" He asked.
