Chapter Eleven
——————————————
The Nanny Behind the Man

"Daddy!" Alanna squeals, hugging my leg. "You made it!" She said.

"Of course I did," I said, pausing to wonder if it was bad that even my daughter didn't expect me to pick her up.

I grabbed Alanna's bag and slid it across my back. Using one arm, I scooped her up, when I noticed a bruise on her jaw.

"What's that?" I asked Alanna.

"Carter hit me," Alanna answered.

"Where is this Carter?" I asked as I entered the building.

I heard yelling as I walked near the office.

"Call her parents now!"

Mrs. Bellringer opened the door and she looked shocked at seeing me.

"Let me guess that's Carter's mom," I said.

Mrs. Bellringer nodded.

"Who is that? Is that the little girl that hit my daughter?" The woman asked, coming towards us with a little girl who was humming to herself.

"She hit me!" Alanna yelled.

"Shut up! You're lying. What kind of child are you raising for her to think it's okay to put her hands on someone else." The woman said, getting closer to us.

"Back up," I said.

"Mrs. Krupa calm down. You're behaving horribly in front of your daughter." Mrs. Bellringer said.

"We see where her daughter gets it from," I said.

Mrs. Krupa gasped and slapped me.

"Oh my God!" Mrs. Bellringer gasped.

"Mommy!" Alanna yelled as she jumped out of my arms.

Cardi looks at my face and then looks at Mrs. Krupa.

"Isn't that sad? Calling the nanny, mommy." Mrs. Krupa said.

Cardi sighed, staring at me before she spoke.

"I know that biologically that I am not her mother but I will beat your ass about her. Now, what's gonna happen is that you and I will go into that office and talk. Let's see if you can slap me the same way you just slapped him." Cardi said, as she pushed past me and walked into the office, getting in Mrs. Krupa.

"This is the ghetto trash you hired to raise your children." Mrs. Krupa said.

I was about to speak when Cardi hushed me.

"Don't say nothing. Take Alanna to the car." Cardi said.

"Are you going to beat me up?" Mrs. Krupa asked, taunting Cardi.

I shook my head and grabbed Cardi's arms, pulling her away from Mrs. Krupa.

"I should but life is already beating your ass. I know your husband likes taking dicks up his ass and you have no prenup so you're stuck so back the fuck off." I replied.

Mrs. Krupa gasped.

"Okay, let's just end the conversation here." Mrs. Bellringer said.

"Let's end it here," I said, as Cardi picked up Alana.

We walked away and left the preschool.

"Why did you come to pick up Alanna?" Cardi asked.

"I wasn't busy," I answered.

"Can we get ice cream?" Alanna asked.

"Yes," I answered.

"You can let go of my hand now," Cardi said.
