The next morning Nagisa was already feeling the backlash of his fathers recent death. He just wasn't himself. As soon as he opened his eyes it took him a good hour just to get out of bed and seeing as normally he would jump up straight away that was a drastic change. In the shower he couldn't tell the water from his tears. He cried silently, it was simply just too much energy for him to make a sound, he just didn't have it in him. He wasn't that close with his father but his father was always kind and due to the little amount of time he spent with him he wished it would have just been more. That's all he really wanted. He felt as if he never had a chance to experience so many things and talk about so many things with him and he wasn't wrong.

That day at school Nagisa just left his hair down as he didn't bother with it at all surprisingly his mother didn't say anything before he left the house, that was actually the most shocking part of all the changes especially since she seemed overly fine about everything that has happened. As soon as he entered his classroom everyone knew something was wrong with him.

"Nagisa are you alright today?" Rio questioned. Rio was an average sized blonde girl who was actually often very cunning, this was the first time he had seen genuine sympathy in her eyes despite him not saying anything yet.

"Wow I look that bad huh, nah I'm cool." Nagisa said, his voice getting weaker as he spoke each word, while he forced a smile using every muscle he had in his body.

She was too shocked to say anything and felt so bad for the boy that she just thought it was best if she went back to her seat. She could see something happened that she hoped she would never have to experience. She couldn't even imagine the amount of pain he was in right now. By the time he spoke three words she wanted to just cry right there in front of him. But even Nagisa had the power to force a smile and she definitely didn't want to make the situation worse by crying right in front of him.

The whole class just watched Nagisa throughout the lesson, Karma was skipping class as usual and to be honest they were thankful he didn't have to see this, at least not right now. Even the teacher was about to tell Nagisa to focus and open his book but as soon as she looked at him she just knew not to even engage in eye contact.

By the time it was break time Nagisa stood up slowly, while everyone watched him. He just walked outside, he looked like a zombie. He almost seemed half dead if not completely dead inside. Karma was sitting in a tree in the distance and locked eyes with him. Nagisa put his head down instantly, trying to avoid Karma's gaze. The whole class was frozen behind Nagisa, just watching him walk in a straight line.

As Nagisa got a bit closer to the forest, Karma jumped down from the branch he was sitting on.

"Hey, Nagisa what's up." He said, trying to sound casual.

"Hey-" Nagisa said, breaking up amid pronouncing the word.

"Is everything okay?" Karma asked with a very concerned look.

He got no response.

"Hey why don't you skip the next class and hang with me for a bit, I know you're always trying to be a golden student but just once won't hurt." He said while putting his arm on Nagisa's shoulder.

Nagisa replied with a very subtle nod.

He began to walk off in a straight line again. No one followed him.

After that the rest of the class didn't even exchange words with each other. They each just went back to their class with the exception of Karma of course.
