The next morning, Karma and Nagisa went out to meet Light and the guy he told them about.

When they arrived at Lights house, they both went into the main room. They saw a man a few years older than Light sitting in an odd way on top of the couch. He had two feet on top of the sofa and he was in a sort of squat position. His black hair matched his wide, tired-looking black eyes.

"Karma, Nagisa...this is L."

"Kira, you know I can introduce myself."

Nagisa hesitated at the mention of the name 'Kira', before remembering that it was Light's pseudonym.

"Anyways, you must be the boy with the demon." L said, staring into Nagisa with deep black eyes.

Nagisa shivered at how intense the gaze was.

"Uh-uhm yes. I guess yeah." Nagisa said, clearing his throat mid speaking.

"No need to act so nervous, relax." L said, still with the intense gaze.

"Sure...I mean yeah, okay." Nagisa replied.

"What's up with Nagisa?" Karma thought, he shouldn't be this nervous around someone so relaxed.

That's what Karma thought before he turned to L, seeing the intenseness of his gaze for the first time. Sweat began to fall from Karma's forehead, before he turned away. He was surprised Nagisa could even maintain eye contact for as long as he was. What was up with this guy?

"So anyways, about this demon...can you control it?" L said, his gaze now seemingly normal.

Nagisa exhaled. "Well uhm, yeah with the right amount of focus. It's not instantaneous but I can grant it power over my consciousness."

"Yes but can you control it? Can you make sure you're able to take back control whenever you please?"

"Well that's something I wanted to talk about... you see this guy injected me with something and it sort of...how do I word this...it sort of puts a 'cap' on Mika's power."

"Mika? Oh the demon I presume. Well I guess that's a good thing as long as there's no side effects."

"No, the problem is it caps his power a lot lower than it should, that's why I was hoping you may now how to examine and extract whatever was put in me."

"Where is this 'Mika' right now?"

"I'm here." He spoke telepathically to Nagisa.

"He's here."

"Okay good. Does he know anything about the injection that is supressing his power."

There was a brief moment of silence between Nagisa and L.

"He knows that the injection is in my bloodstream, it's an extremely small amount and that's roughly it."

"Well aren't you lucky."

"If he were to reassure me that it isn't harmful I would have probably left you with it but we don't want any casualties that could have been prevented."

"So does that mean you're going to extract it?"

"Yes."

"Are you sure you can do it, are you a doctor or something."

"No, but I'm that rare type of genius that only comes once in a lifetime." He said, taking a sideways glance at Light, who was rolling his eyes.

Nagisa nodded.

L told Nagisa to return tomorrow and informed Light that he would be borrowing a room in his house.

The next day Nagisa returned with Karma.

Light and Karma waited downstairs as L told Nagisa to come up alone. He didn't really like being around so many people at once.

"Sit against the back of the bed." L instructed.

Nagisa did just that.

"Did you get any results from the blood you extracted yesterday?"

"If I didn't I wouldn't have called you here."

"Okay so, what did you find out?"

"Well your blood seems pretty normal, which means it hasn't spread. That's a good thing."

"Okay cool. How are you going to know where it is though?"

"Just watch."

Nagisa payed close attention as L opened a drawer.

"Actually, close your eyes."

Nagisa didn't even bother argue back, though he did want to see what L was going to do.

He closed his eyes and braced himself, he didn't feel anything yet though.

"Hey, Mika do you know what's going on?" Nagisa spoke, telepathically.

"No, I can only see when your eyes are open."

Nagisa sighed.

"Okay keep still and don't open your eyes."

"Yeah, fine."

Nagisa felt some sort of heat just below his left shoulder. Around a second later, it was like it travelled through his skin into the inside of his body. It felt like heat but it wasn't hot or painful.

Then it disappeared.

"What was that?" Nagisa asked, eyes still shut.

"If I told you, I doubt you'd understand."

Nagisa knew that there was probably a lot of truth to that statement so he didn't bother dispute it, instead he just stayed silent.

"Hm, interesting." L said, to himself.

"I don't know what that was, but I kind of feel relieved." Mika said, to Nagisa.

"That's a good thing, right?"

"Yeah, don't worry."

"Okay, you can open your eyes now."

Nagisa opened his eyes. Once they adjusted to the light again he got off the bed and stood up. He felt normal.

"Wow, so is that it?"

"Yeah, everything should be good now." As soon as it left your bloodstream it sort of evaporated so I can't do any further examinations but at least It's gone."

"Yeah thanks."

"Who exactly injected you? Like was it some sort of mad doctor."

"No, not exactly. Let's just leave it at that though."

"Hm." L hummed.

Nagisa left with Karma and Light showed L to the door shortly after.

"Well I'm, glad he's gone." Light said to himself, relieved.

On the way home Nagisa explained everything to Karma about the heat sensations and stuff. Once they were home they just finished off the rest of there day doing normal things.
