Hiromi slowly lifted her head up at the sound of her sons silent tears.

"Na-nagisa?"

There were marks all across there face, who would do this to her? Was it the reaper?

"Yeah mum, it's me." Nagisa stood up again, wiping the tears from his eyes.

"What are you doing here. This is dangerous, you shouldn't be here."

Did his mum actually care for once?

"I-" Nagisa sniffled. "I know mum I'll explain later but for now you're safe and so am I so don't worry. Just let me get you out of here."

Hiromi dropped her head again. Was it from pure exhaustion?

Nagisa dropped down into the cramped room where his mother was chained to a chair. He barely had room to move but he'd manage.

"Okay, mum close you eyes."

Hiromi shut her eyes, she was tired anyways.

"Mika I'm gonna need you to melt these chains." Nagisa spoke, telepathically as usual.

Mika took control for a moment and melted all the chains that were binding Nagisa's mother to the chair.

"H-how did you break the chains." She said, opening her eyes.

Nagisa just smiled. "Let's go." He said, lifting her up.

"Need help?" Mika said, loaning a small amount of his strength to Nagisa.

"Thanks."

Nagisa jumped up and dashed down the tunnel to escape the same way he got it.

"Y-"

Nagisa heard his mother speak, it was only for a split second. She was probably to exhausted to say a word so she quickly fell silent again.

Nagisa dashed through the field, just over an hour had passed so it was still dark. The rain was a lot lighter now though.

He felt his mum collapse on his back. She wasn't in danger she just needed rest. At least now Nagisa could let Mika take full control and use top speed.

He quickly dashed passed a tree, grabbing his bag and phone that he left there earlier.

Half an hour later he was at the train station, he caught the first train back to Namek City.

He arrived around forty-five minutes later. He made sure to text Karma once he did.

*Hey baby, I'm back now. I also have someone with me, don't freak up but I don't know what to do so I'll be home in about ten minutes. ~ Nagi*

*Okay, love you.*

He put the phone back in his pocket and gave Mika control again. It was night so they were allowed to move fast.

Shortly after.

*Knock* *Knock*

Nagisa knocked on the front door, alerting Karma of his presence.

Karma came and opened the door for him.

"Hey Nagi, you're dripping with rain. Need a towel?"

"Yeah sure, thanks."

Karma hadn't acknowledged the person on Nagisa's back yet, or maybe he did but he wanted Nagisa to be ready to talk about it first. Who knows?

Nagisa walked into the main room and lay his mother down on one of the wider sofas.

Karma came in with his towel.

"Lets talk upstairs." Nagisa said, drying his face and hair with the towel his boyfriend had just given him.

The boys got to Karma's room, which was now known as 'Karma and Nagisa's room, and sat down on the bed.

"So, what happened on your...mission?" Karma said, struggling to think of the right word.

"Well long story short, I ran into the reaper at what I'm sure was that assassin's hideout that I was hired to kill. That was strange, because the reaper could have been using the alias 'Ao' but he wasn't the time to scam people when it came to the assassination business, if he just wanted the money then he'd kill them."

"Hm, you're right. So what else happened?"

"Well I killed the reaper so we won't be seeing him again but just as I was leaving I found my mother all beaten up under some floorboards. She was tied to a chair and everything."

"You think the reaper did it?"

Nagisa shrugged. "I'm genuinely not sure. All I know is that now I don't know what to do with her."

Karma pulled his boyfriend closer, seeing the worried expression on his face.

"It can't be that bad, can it?"

"I mean she's gonna want me to find a 'proper' job, sure I could do that but I don't want to I'm happy with being an assassin. She also might not let us be together and on top of that she might go back to abusing me."

Nagisa began to shake slightly but it was quickly stopped by a kiss Karma planted on his lips.

"Listen...none of that stuff is going to happen. You're gonna be fine and no one...I mean no one would ever stop us from being together. Remember when we promised each other we would protect one another?"

Nagisa nodded.

"Good. Plus you're not in her care anymore. She doesn't have any rights over you and what you do. So don't worry, if she tries anything then it's her own fault because it won't work."

Nagisa calmed down. "You're right. Thanks Karma."

Karma smiled in response.

The two boys went downstairs in the room closest to the one Nagisa's mum was in. They went about there day as normal but as it got later and later they realised she probably wouldn't wake up till tomorrow morning so they went up to bed.

"Hey, Karma." Nagisa whispered, laying beside his boyfriend.

"Hm." He hummed.

"U-uh, can I...um put my-my arms around you."

"I'm surprised you had to ask me that."

Nagisa smiled, hugging his boyfriend tightly from behind. Not too tight though.
