Scarlett...
I watched as Lila struggled under Five's foot, kicking and squirming. I must say I am not doing much better, this lady does have some great strength in her arms. Neither of them seems to be backing down, so I might as well say goodbye to my windpipe till I still can talk.
"You've got a good nose." Handler commented. She had to fight me to stay still because I could already feel the energy leaving my body so I was trying everything to get out of the Handler's grasp. This baby runs on many things...water, food, but I mainly enjoy breathing so can this lady be so kind and give me my dose of oxygen I am kinda addicted to that.
"You know, planting her in a psych ward, taking advantage of my simpleton brother, that was smart." Five complimented with a tight-lipped smile. Glancing up at Handler.
"Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." I started coughing as she pressed onto my larynx a bit more. Five paused and looked at her confused.
"She's your..."
"Daughter. Yes. And she's my only one, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't crush her windpipe." Handler said with a forced smile. Five looked at me, it looked like he just now noticed I was struggling to breathe.
"You need to let go of her then cause she is my only one too and as much as I sometimes hate her snappy mouth I would like to hear words come out of it audibly." Five said mimicking Handler's tone.
"Never knew someone could be so important to you."
"That would be because I didn't want you to know, now let her go or I might just put my foot down a bit lower." Five threatened. The pressure around my neck disappeared and I almost crashed to the ground if it wouldn't be for Five catching me. "You okay," He assured me pulling me to his side so I could lean on him.
Lila also managed to pick herself up, breathing heavily. How is she just breathing heavily? I feel like I am having an asthma attack here. What is her windpipe from? Lead or something?
"I am so going to enjoy killing you someday," Lila growled at Five. And you know I don't like it when someone threatens my boyfriend, only I can do that, so I stepped hard onto her foot causing her to yelp slightly. "But first I'll kill you," She growled into my face. I pushed away from Five, even if my feet were still like jelly I stood up to Lila glaring back at her.
"Not if I kill you first," I growled back. Five pulled me slightly away from her just so I won't start an unnecessary fight here. But I highly doubt it would be unnecessary.
"Lila, darling, would you give us a minute, please?" Handler said absentmindedly. Five raised an eyebrow and a smirk found its way to his lips.
"Yes, the grown-ups need to talk." Five said looking up at Handler. Lila walked away grunting angrily. "Scarlett, you too," Five said pushing me away slightly.
"What?"
"Grown-ups are gonna talk you don't need to be here for that. Go on." Five pointed me towards the barrels that were further away. I frowned kicking down the lit from one of the barrels on my way there.
"You've got some attitude," Lila commented when I climbed on the barrel that was opposite to her.
"I would compliment right back at ya but there is just nothing I can really pinpoint on that mindless, blunt personality of yours." I grinned satisfied when I got an annoyed growl from Lila.
"Jazz is like a beautiful woman. Complex, emotional, hard to please. She doesn't just give it to you...she makes you work for it." I overheard Handler say.
