Scarlett...
"Not only have you burglarized my lab, set my chimp loose, conned your way into the Mexican consulate, repeatedly stalked and attacked me, but you have, on numerous occasions, called me..."
"Hey, Pop. How's it hangin'?" Klaus said casually taking the seat next to me.
"...Dad," He finished, his eyes scanning all of us mostly hanging on Five and me. "My reconnaissance tells me you're not CIA, not KGB, certainly not MI5, so...who are you?"
"That's not so easy to explain..." I started but Five cut me off.
"We're your children. We're from the future." I didn't want it to be explained specifically like that but alright, whatever suits you. "In 1989, you adopted us all and trained us to fight against the end of the world. Called us the Umbrella Academy." I saw Klaus next to me raise his glass in the air and I rolled my eyes.
"Why on earth would I adopt seven..."
"Eight. One of us isn't here." Allison pointed out sadly but it wouldn't be Diego if he didn't barge in.
"Dead. One of us is dead." I looked at Klaus sternly.
"Klaus."
"Yeah, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba. Enough of that now, both of you," Klaus said mainly looking back in his seat where Ben surely is. To say that dad was taken back slightly would be an understatement.
"Regardless, what would possess me to adopt eight ill-mannered malcontents?"
"We all have special abilities." Five answered.
"Special? In what sense?"
"In the superpower sense." Luther clarified for our dad. And I just hope there won't be a test run on us again.
"Called me old-fashioned, but I'm a stickler for a pesky little thing called evidence. Show me."
"Nice to see nothing's changed," I mumbled under my breath and started playing with my fingers under the table.
"Everybody wants to see powers all of a sudden." Allison scoffed silently taking a gulp from her drink.
"We're not circus animals, okay? We're not gonna bounce balls on our noses and clap our hands like seals for your amusement." Before Luther could even finish the sentence Diego's knife went flying in dad's direction. Ugh, I don't want to see blood today. Under the table a flicked with my finger and sent the knife out of its course. It stuck itself into the pillar behind dad. The old man didn't seem fazed and he just wrote something down, like when we were kids.
"What are you writing?"
"You are zero for two, young man," Dad said nonchalantly causing Allison to almost spit out her drink. Diego swiftly stood up but Five took notice to that and spatial jumped in front of him containing him.
"Stop!"
"Now that is interesting," Dad mumbled watching Five straighten up his uniform.
"All right, uh, quick rundown. Luther: super strength. Klaus can commune with the dead. Allison can rumor anyone to do anything." Five said sitting back down next to me while pointing out the special abilities of the siblings.
"Except she never uses it," Diego mumbled. Allison smirked at him sadistically.
"I heard a rumor you punched yourself in the face." Not being able to help himself Diego punched himself right in the face, hard.
"Now that's gotta hurt," I said, pulling off a face of discomfort.
"And what about you two?" Dad asked looking between me and Vanya.
