Katherine has always loved her big brother, Spencer. So, when he moved to Nashville, it was only natural that she missed him.

But everything changed. Her home life wasn't as fun as it used to be. Peers bullied her, friends became fake, grades dropped and people used her. Hateful messages flooded into her inbox.

She missed the way things were when Spencer was home. Kat just needed a second chance.

- she and Spencer are best friends, and she becomes sad, borderline depressed when he leaves
- and she almost lives a sheltered life.
- she's not supposed to have social media, and she doesn't have many friends at school bc she'd rather be known as Kat instead of "Spencer's sister"
- her parents tend to argue about her, so she feels responsible and it doesn't help.
- her dad definitely notices her behavior, and he knows exactly what's up, and he calls Spencer
- Spencer takes her to Nashville for a week, and on their way home back to indiana, Kat spills the beans
- and thus, her parents consider letting her move there with her brother as her legal guardian
- the move does make her happier, and she's able to start her career as an author
- Kat is a book worm, she reads every chance she gets
- but really, this story is about her Kat, her relationship with her brother and his band, the angst of being a teenager and beginning her career
- this is not an easy time for her.
- she fights with her brother, her schoolwork, she fights to get published and she fights with her belief in christianity.
- what happens in between in up to the author, all I ask is do not romanticize depression, anxiety and the angst.
