Ron had left the cottage the day after Christmas, as he had decided to go and find Harry and Hermione.
Amelia had to admit that the house was lonely without him. Without his company, she found herself staying in her room more, only coming down for meals.
As the days after his departure turned to weeks, she began to only come downstairs once a day.
Fleur was worried about the poor girl; after all, the Veela herself was incredibly lucky—she was able to live with the love of her life and see him every day. Amelia, on the other hand, hadn't seen Fred in almost two months.
To keep an eye on her, Fleur started sneaking out of bed in the middle of the night to watch over Amelia while she slept. Since she took up this habit, she was able to catch Amelia's nightmares right when they started, and she was able to shake her awake and console her, drying her tears and hugging her until she fell asleep once more.
Amelia noticed that Fleur had begun staying in her room after the first week or so, but she also noticed how much less worried Fleur looked, so she didn't say anything.
Towards the end of January, however, the usual routine of sleeping and waking and just barely living was broken, for a new stray had shown up to the cottage.
It was the middle of the night, and Amelia had actually slept through the commotion downstairs for the first time. Always a light sleeper, if one of the others got up in the night to use the restroom, she would hear it.
"Amelia, love, wake up." Fleur said, shaking her shoulder gently.
Amelia jolted awake, nearly whacking Fleur in the face with her flailing arms.
"What is it? What's happening?" Amelia mumbled.
Fleur's lips held the smallest of smiles. "Come with me."
She held out her hand and led Amelia downstairs, where all the lights were off except for the one above the kitchen table.
And sitting at that table was someone who had a very familiar head of shoulder-length blonde hair.
"Bellamy!"
Amelia, suddenly wide awake, ran to her sister. Bellamy was just beginning to stand up from her chair when Amelia slammed into her, knocking them both to the ground.
There were tears, laughter, and screams of excitement as the Bishop twins were reunited at last, and Fleur sat back and watched with a grin, happy to see Amelia alive once more.
"What are you doing here?" Amelia asked in between sobs of relief.
Bellamy wiped a few of the tears off of her sister's face. "The safe house I was staying at was raided. Luckily, Remus and Tonks knew it was coming, so I had enough time to pack my things and get out." She explained.
"You were staying with Remus and Tonks this whole time?" Amelia asked in disbelief, only a little jealous.
"Yeah, since December." Bellamy grinned. "And Tonks is so pregnant, like about-to-burst pregnant. She's glowing, Meels."
Too excited to sleep, Fleur brewed the twins a pot off coffee, and they sat at the kitchen table until dawn, catching up and sharing stories of the past two months of hiding.
Amelia and Bellamy ended up falling asleep on the living room couch, the elder's head on her sister's lap.
For the first time in nearly two months, Amelia was happy.
