As she stunned the Death Eater closest to her, Amelia was wracked with worry about her sister and boyfriend.

It had been over an hour since she'd last seen either Bellamy or Fred; Bellamy, at the very least, should have been back by now.

"D'you think you lot can handle this corridor?" Amelia shouted over her shoulder to Ginny and Dean Thomas, who fought side by side somewhere behind her.

Ginny, fiery hair wild and brown eyes bright with frenzy, locked eyes with Amelia and nodded.

This nod of confirmation was all it took for Amelia to turn and run in the other direction, heading away from the outside corridors and towards the heart of the castle.

The way was mostly clear, although the hallways were littered with bodies she didn't dare get close enough to to identify.

She turned a corner, barely looking to check for danger.

And that was her mistake.

"Crucio!"

Amelia dropped to her knees, back arching unnaturally as the worst pain she'd ever felt in her life wracked through her body.

She fell bodily to the cobbled floor, and the sensation of her head hitting the stone would've hurt if her nerve endings weren't already overloaded with pain.

The agony kept coming, relentless and unwavering as she convulsed, silently begging for it to stop.

But it didn't, and a guttural scream ripped out of her throat.

The wizard casting the Unforgivable Curse stepped out of the shadows, and in the back of her mind Amelia recognized him as Fenrir Greyback.

He smiled cruelly, wand still pointed at her tormented form, lips pulling back to reveal bared fangs.

She whimpered in pain, and he laughed at her misery.

Greyback continued to get closer and closer to her until he was near enough to press the toe of his boot against her cheek.

"What a shame." He muttered, making a tsk, tsk sound. "You're almost too pretty to eat."

He knelt down next to her, and for a few heavenly moments the pain stopped, for he had returned his wand to the pocket of his robes.

But a new, worse pain began as he reared back his head and sunk his teeth into the flesh of her neck.

Her scream echoed throughout the halls and hidden passages of Hogwarts, and Bellamy Bishop looked up from where she ascended a secret staircase, heart sinking in her chest. She recognized that scream.

Bellamy rushed to find her sister, knowing in her soul that she would be too late regardless of how soon she got to her.

She hated that she was right.

In an empty corridor, far away from the fight, laid the dead body of Amelia Jane Bishop, in a pool of her own blood with tears tracing down her cheeks, her brown eyes cold and empty, staring up at the ceiling.
