We were warming up for our game. I was passing with Mal when I glanced over at the stands. That when I saw my mom, causing me to quickly run over to her.
"You told me you had to work!" I said with a big smile as I hugged her
"I may have lied" she said with a smirk as she pulled away
"Now go play, I'm taking you out to eat after the game" she said kissing my head before she shoved me back to my team who I saw was watching the interaction causing me to blush
"Who is that?" Mal asked looking at me with curiosity
"That's my mom" I said with a smile as I glanced back at her to she her taking pictures of me causing me to wave before turning back to the team
"That's your mom? Wow, she looks more like your sister" Kelley said and it looked like she was checking her out.
"No" I said staring down Kelley who just laughed "she is pretty young to be a 17 years old mom, but I'm am adopted so the age gap isn't really that surprising" I continued
"Wait, your adopted?" Meghan asked looking shocked while everyone else also looked at me shocked
"Yeah, she adopted me a few years ago" I said awkwardly rubbing the back of my neck
"You never said anything" Mal said and I just shrugged "I normally don't tell people" and everyone nodded in understanding which made me happy
"Do you know who your birth parents are?" Christen asked looking curious as I blushed think back to how I know.
"Legally my answer is no, but I do know who my birth mom is" I said doing my best not to look over at her as I felt her eyes staring intently at me.
"Legally?" Rose asked causing me to laugh
"I'm not suppose to know. When I was younger, a couple kids and I broke into cabinet that held our files." I said as they nodded in understanding
"So have you reached out to your birth mom?" Emily said looking excited to know
"Um, uh no" I said feeling slightly uncomfortable and feeling stupid for just not being able to say no.
"You don't seem to sure about that?" Tobin said looking at me with concern as I just gave nervous smile
"I haven't" I said with more confidence this time as everyone nodded.
"Well looks like it time for the game" I said quickly standing up and heading away from everyone as I felt all of their eyes on me.

I was laying on my bed, waiting for my mom to finish getting ready to meet for dinner when I heard a knock on my door causing me to get up to answer it
"Hey hope" I said when I saw her, she looked nervous as she stood outside my door
"Need anything?" I asked as I opened my door wider
"I was wondering if we could talk?" Hope asked and I instantly also felt as nervous as she looked
"Come in" I said holding the door open for her to come in
"What's up?" I asked as I jumped on to my bed causing a laugh to escape her lips
"It about what you told us earlier" she said taking a seat on Morgan bed
I instantly started panicking on the inside but did my best to hide it.
"If you are trying to get my mom's number for Kelley, tell her to back off" I said just trying to come up with something and keep calm
"Kelley can do that on her own" hope said smiling for a second before she became serious again
"You said you knew who your birth mom was" she said and I nodded trying to figure out if she knew what I knew. I felt my heart beat pick up as I nodded my head yes
"Its me, isn't it" hope said looking in the eyes as I felt my eyes widen before I quickly looked away
"Yes" I whispered, feeling anxious for what was going to happen now since she wasn't speaking but looked deep in though
"How'd you figure it out?" I asked knowing I didn't do anything to giving it away
"You were born in the same state on the same date as my daughter. You also have your dad's eyes and smile. What confirmed my suspicion was finding out you were adopted" hope said looking back at me as I nodded, not really sure where to go with this
"Who is my dad?" I finally asked, wanting to know since he wasn't on any of the paper work.
"He was one of my closest friends, but he wasn't ready to be a dad and denied that you were his" hope said with a blank face
"I guessing you weren't ready either? I mean you were in high school." I asked, wanting to know the reason I was put up for adoption. I just always assumed that was why.
I watched her nodded her head while looking away before she turned back with tears in her eyes, which caught me off guard. I've never seen or heard anywhere of the Hope Solo crying.
"I'm so sorry" she said as the first tear fell and I gave her a sad smile before standing up and moving in-front of her. I wiped her tears.
"No need to apologize. You had you reasons and I turned out good. I'm not mad or upset, I promise" I said giving her a real smile as she stood up and pulled me into a hug, feeling a weight lifted off my chest at her finally knowing since I wouldn't have to act like Hope was just a teammate to me. Being around your birth mom and her not know and you not telling anyone can take a toll on you mentally
"Why didn't you ever reach out when you found out or tell me when you joined the team a couple months ago?"she said as she just held me, resting her chin on my head
"You made it a closed file. I wanted to respect your decision. Plus no one knows that you had a kid so I didn't want to expose you to everyone." I said looking up at Hope who I saw was already looking down at me.
"Well I'm happy I know now" she said pulling away and taking a seat on the bed as I joined
"If it is okay with you and your mom. I would like to more involved in your life." Hope said nervously as a huge smile grew on my face
"I would love that! My mom won't mind. She has been trying to get me to tell you since I've joined" I said excitedly causing hope to smile as she pulled me into another hug
"I'm looking forward to it" Hope said as you smiled up at her
"Join us for dinner?" I asked
"I would love too" Hope said
