You sighed as you rested your head against your textbook. Wanting to hit your head against it a couple of times.

It had seemed like only yesterday was the first day of grade 9, and now, here you were, studying for a grade 12 diploma for Biology. Oh, the stress that ached through your body made everything feel uneasy.

Soon you would be finished. Soon school would feel like nothing but a fever dream. And for some reason, even though you complained and complained about how much you hated school and how you wished for it to be over, you weren't excited for the biggest piece of your life to be finished. You weren't ready to leave the nest. It felt like a weird twisted case of Stockholm syndrome.

Though you knew, even when you were younger, that this time would eventually be coming, and it was harder to process with each day, with each day that came closer that you would be leaving the old but close town of Derry to go to University, or College depending on what you decided to do. Though you couldn't help but be excited as well. Even though your heart felt like it was breaking, your mind was excited.

A small kiss against the side of your neck ripped you from your thoughts, sending a small shock through your body as well as you turned around quickly, a scream on the edge of your tongue, but when you saw Henry, smirking, you sighed a breath of relief and smiled, leaning up to give him a small kiss on the lips. 

"Did I scare ya?" He asked quietly. Moving a chair so he could sit beside you. He checked behind him, glancing at your nose closed bedroom door before facing you, a small and soft smile on his face.

You shrugged, giving him a small smile, "you could say that."

"Your parents let me in and let me know you were in your room studying, which they also said you've been here for the past three hours. You need to take a break babe." He sighed. Pushing your textbook and notes away from your hand, slowly taking the pencil and pulling it on the table before interlocking your fingers, making you chuckle.

"Clingy today huh?" You asked, Henry giving you a look before huffing and kissing your cheek. His face reddening

"Just missed you, it's been a while, I needed some us time. You've been so busy that your replacing me with studying." He sighed as he pulled himself away from you.

You couldn't help but smile and slowly decided to put your books away, quickly putting them in your backpack. Taking his hand and leading him to your bed. Giggling lightly as Henry face planted onto your bed and groaned. His body spreading across the mattress and messing up your blankets.

"Do you think we can just take a nap today? Dad's been really angry lately and I don't wanna go home. Because of his yelling I haven't been able to have a good sleep in a while." Henry sighed as you climbed into the bed, wrapping your arms around him as you laid on his chest. His fingers immediately started to run through your hair, his breathing calm but still a bit ragged, probably because he ran here.

"Of course, we can do whatever you want today henry, I know it's been a tough week for you because I haven't been able to do much but study, though I'm surprised you don't wanna have sex." You sighed, a small giggle on your lips as you closed your eyes.

"Don't tempt me." Henry snickered before kissing the top of your head. Henry's heart beat was calm and fluttered every once in a while, making you smile, but you didn't point it out.

"It's not your fault though babe. I'm glad your studying, I don't want you trapped in this shit hole town. You deserve more than I can give you." Henry sighed and you felt your face tighten, quickly you sat up. Cradling his hips as you sat on his lower stomach.

"Henry, what did I say about talking like that. BOTH of us are gonna be leaving. I've told you time and time again that I will not be leaving Derry unless you come with me. I want us to have a future and I'm not leaving you, never ever." You sighed, grabbing his hands and holding them against your chest.

"Y/n, I love you. So much, so much that I can't even explain, but what I do know is I love you enough to let you go. I can't hold you back. I can't make you stay here when all you have ever talked about is leaving this town and becoming something bigger than you are." Henry frowned, sitting up as well. Your legs instinctively wrapping around him. Your hands trembled slightly.

"Baby. Listen to me. We are leaving together. Even if I get accepted into a university, and you don't, we can talk about where we can go, we will find a place that will give both of us jobs and we can go find an apartment."

"Y/n, you know I don't want to go to university."

"Well then Henry, you can work, and I'll go to my classes and we can still find an apartment. We can still be us." You smiled softly. Henry couldn't help but smile back. His face softening as his hands gently cupped your face.

"As long as you want me too. I will go anywhere with you. I will do anything to keep you by my side." And with that, he pressed a small and gentle kiss to your lips. Letting them linger for a second before pulling away.

"Henry. I love you. I want you to be with me at all times. I can't imagine life without you."

At this, Henry smiled. His hands gently running through your hair as he pressed a kiss against your nose. Making you smile through the heart ache.

"I won't leave."

"Y/n calm down, your gonna pass it." Henry snickered as the two of you walked towards Henry's house, hand in hand.

Your diploma wasn't until the afternoon, so you decided that to keep your mind off of the sudden realization that you would be in a crowded room of other anxious students, you would go be with your boyfriend.

"Baby, I'm just scared. I just, I want us to go somewhere and what if I can't get into a school? What if I can't help us provide?" You rambled. Henry sighed from beside you, squeezing your hand, reassuring you in his own way as you guys entered his house.

Like always, you both rushed to his room so his father didn't beat down on both of you.

"Y/n, you are literally the smartest person I know, and that is honestly saying a lot because I know everyone here. If anyone has a chance at passing that Diploma, it's you. If anyone has a chance at being accepted in a big shot school, it's gonna be you." Henry explained as you put you book bag behind his door on a rack you forced him to get. Henry was quick to lay down. Patting his thighs when you turned around.

You shook your head with a small chuckle, before sitting on his lower stomach.

"You don't have to make me feel better. I just feel so stressed. Why if I didn't study enough?"

"Y/n you ignored me for a week." Henry deadpanned. Smacking your thigh softly. You made a face at him and giggled.

"Yeah maybe I studied too much." You sighed. Laying down so your head was in between Henry's shoulder and neck. His arms instinctively wrapping around your body.

"I love you Y/n, no matter what."

"I love you too Henry. I can't wait to start our life."

So this was kinda a vent. I'm doing diplomas and the stress is not good, I never realized how important school truly was in my life until I had to experience the stress and anxiety of diplomas. I'm really gonna miss school.
