Recognition Of Their Mistakes

Sid has left the room. He was sitting on the terrace. He had to go to meet some people, but was not in mood now. Is this agony ever going to end. Or will they have to live with it all their lives. Pari came to him.

Pari walked away to Sid's room. She opened the room and saw Sana lying on the sofa.

Sana looked at the bed to see the bed made and blanket folded properly. Sid must have done it when she had fallen asleep. Pari came forward and took her by her arm. She seemed furious, so Sana did not argue and went and sat on the bed. Pari sat next to her.
Pari: Pillow ko teeka laga kar bait.
Sana followed her instructions. Pari was in a dangerous mood. It's better not to argue with her.

She started crying. Her body was shivering. Pari collected Sana in her arms. Sid was standing outside the room. He had come to collect his wallet and stopped when he heard Pari and Sana talking. Sana has slept all afternoon. All the discussion and crying had exhausted her. All said and done she was at fault too, to some extent. She was not thinking about his sufferings. He too must have suffered for her for those nine years. Falling for a girl so much younger to him, he must have fought so many battles within himself. He must have gone through so much, when he had to push her away, because her dad has requested him too. It's five when Sid returns from his meeting. His mind was not into it today. All the discussion between Pari and Sana were still ringing in his ears. He came home to find chachi coming out of the kitchen.

Sid entered the room, to find Sana pacing the floor. She looked as if she was not feeling well.
Sid: Kya hua??
She did not reply.

Hearing of food nausena hit her hard and she ran to the bathroom, she bend over the commode and threw up. She threw until her stomach was empty. Sid had entered the bathroom and sat behind her, stroking her back and holding her hair. She got up and rinsed her mouth and washed her face. She was exhausted and was finding hard to walk. Sid came forward and picked her in his arms. She looked at him with surprise in her eyes. He did not look at her. He came out and lay her on the bed. She too was not looking at him now. Sid took a glass of water from the table near by and gave it to Sana. She took a few sips and gave the glass back.
Sid: Tujhe kuch peene ke leye lau?? Fresh fruit juice piyegi??
Sana nodded. He walked out to tell chachi to make juice for Sana. As he climbed down a thought struck him. How many times she must have been in this kind of situation in Mohali. She had no one for her there. To take care of her. She was all alone. It was he who should have been there. She was carrying his baby and she was left alone to tend for herself in this situation by him. He may be right in many things. But he was totally wrong in leaving Sana alone that day. No matter what.
