Chapter 10

I woke up in the same room. May benda na yung pulsuhan ko. I roamed my eyes around the room and I found my mother sleeping in the couch near my bed.

Kailan kaya siya dumating?

I can't feel my left arm. I think it went numb after what I did. I tried to move a bit. I'm feeling a little bit uncomfortable with my position. I moved my arm a bit but I accidentally touch the things on the top of the side table, which causes sound. Mom woke up and she looked at me.

"Ave, are you alright?" She asked me.

"Y-yeah." I simply said.

"How's your wrist? Does it still hurt?" She asked me again.

"No, I'm okay, mom."

I tried to get up but I'm unable to move my left wrist. Mom helped me.

"I'm sorry for not being there on your side. I should not let you feel that way sweety. I'm sorry." She looked at me with a sad eyes.

"It's okay, mom. I understand."

"When it attacks you again, don't hesitate to tell or call me, okay?"

"Yes po." She kissed my forehead.

"How are you, Ave?" Rheniel asked me.

"We're worried after we heard what happened to you."Jaime said.

"Is it attacking you again?" Rhea asked.

"Teka lang naman. Isa-isa lang pwede?" Natatawa kong sabi.

"Okay na ako. Matagal ako mamatay hahahaha." I told them. They laughed.

"But seriously, Ave. Inaatake ka na naman ba?" Jaime asked me.

"I don't know. I think it's attacking me again." I sighed heavily.

It's been a week since I discharged from the hospital. But the doctor told Mom that I have to take a couple of days rest in order for me to gain my strength again. This is the first day that I showed up to them after that incident.

"We're here if you needed us, Ave. Call us, please?" Rheniel looked worried. I smiled and nodded.

"Let's go? May 1 o'clock pa akong klase." I told them.

"Hatid ka na namin, Ave. Iisang building lang naman kaming tatlo." Jaime offered.

Naglakad kami papunta sa Engineering and Architecture Building. When we're finally reached our destination, they waved their hands to me as they walked away.

"Kitakits sa parking lot after class ha?" Rhea told me as she walks with them. I nodded and enter the room.

Konti pa lang ang nandito. I sat at my chair quietly. I heard some of the girls giggled as they whispering to each other--- I don't know if it's still a whisper because I can clearly hear it. O baka malakas lang pandinig ko.

"Damn hot!" Agatha told them and then they giggled.

"If stealing a glance on him is a crime, I'm probably in jail right now. Baka lifetime imprisonment pa." Theena said. Pumapadyak pa ang paa niya habang nagsasalita.

Kilig na kilig amputa.

I just rolled my eyes. I looked outside, and then I saw the man they're talking about in front of our room. He's tall, lean and looks amazingly hot, indeed. But I can only see the back of him. Nakatalikod siya sa gawi ko. No wonder, all the girls here are drooling over him. He's absolutely hot.

Likod pa lang yan ha.

Inalis ko ang paningin ko sakanya. Baka mamaya kasama na ako sa mga babae dito na naglalaway sa kanya.

Really, Aestrea Aveleigh? In that state, you're still not drooling over him huh?

I grabbed my phone and I started to browse on my social media accounts. I don't know what gotten into our Prof for being late this time. It's already past one o'clock. A message popped up. It's from Rheniel.

Rhen:
Omg gurllllllll!!! I have a news for you, I'm sure you'll be shocked. Kasi kami, OO! We'll tell you later at the parking lot after the class. See yah!

I frowned. Hindi ko alam kung ano pinagsasabi ng isang 'to. Maybe later I'll understand why she send me that kind of message.

Hindi na nakapasok si Prof sa time namin. Maybe he has an emergency or important matters to do. Wala na akong klase pagkatapos. Mababagot naman ako kung maghihintay ako sa parking lot ng isa at kalahating oras. I decided to go to the library. Siguro magbabasa na lang ako dito. I scanned for a novel book. When I found one, I sat on the vacant chair near the window and I put the book on the table. I was finding my phone inside of my bag. When I found it, I get my earphones and put it on my ears then I listened to the music while reading the novel. Nasasulok kasi ako at wala masyadong tao ang umuupo doon.

I closed the book when I  finished reading the novel. I yawned. So I decided to take a nap there for a minute before I go to the parking lot. I felt like I was very tired and exhausted this day. I think, I really need this now. I closed my eyes, still listening to the music.

I felt someone wiping my forehead with a soft fabric while caressing my hair. I slowly moved. Hindi ko alam kung ilang minuto akong nakatulog. All I know is someone's wiping my forehead and caressing my hair. I moved again, antok pa ako pero gusto ko malaman kung sino itong istorbo na 'to sa pagtutulog ko. The movement stop when I started to move. I decided to open my eyes to see who the hell is it. Nakaramdam ako ng konting hilo pagmulat ko ng mga mata ko pero binalewala ko yun. I moved my head up to see the person who caressing my hair and wiping my forehead. But I saw no one but a book shelf in front of me.

What the hell! Ano yun, multo?

I got goosebumps. Napatayo ako nagmamadaling inayos ang mga gamit ko. I returned the book properly on its book shelf. And then I hurriedly went out of the library. I walked fast to the parking lot. I walked as I watched at my phone to see what time is it. The phone clock says it's already 3:53 in the afternoon. In any minute, the girls where be here. Before I could return my phone to my bag, I bumped into someone.

I was readying myself to apologize but I froze when I saw the man's face.

"Rhys..." mahinang sambit ko habang hindi pa rin makapaniwala sa aking nakita.

He looks at me with a cold eyes. Iniwas niya ang tingin niya bago niya ako nilampasan.

I felt my chest throbbing in pain as I looked at his back as he walks away from me...

Just like the way how I wanted him to walk out of my life that day.
