Chapter 16

Tapos na ang last subject namin sa umaga pero hindi pa rin nagtetext si Rhys. Lunch time na. Late siguro sila pinalabas ng Prof niya. I waited him for a couple of minutes but still there's no Rhys. I tried texting him. But he didn't reply. I decided to call him. It's ringing but no one answered. Maybe he turned it into a silent mode. May klase pa siguro. I decided to go to the 3rd floor, where his room at. I saw few of his classmates there. Wala na pala silang pasok pero bakit hindi niya ako tinext?

I went downstairs, pabalik sa room namin baka hindi kami nagkasalubong kanina. Baka nandun siya naghihintay. When I reached the 2nd floor. The whole floor is silent. Maybe they're all went to the cafeteria. I tried to look inside our classroom, hoping Rhys would be there. But there's no one inside. I texted him again. I told him that I'll be waiting in the cafeteria. When I entered the cafeteria, I saw the girls already eating. They waved their hands. I sat beside them.

"Saan ka galing? Kanina ka pa namin hinahanap." Rheniel said.

"May pinuntahan pa kasi ako."

"We tried to text you, pero hindi ka nagrereply." Rhea told me.

"Nauna na lang kaming kumain, akala namin tapos ka na eh." Jaime said.

"Sige mauna na kayo, medyo busog pa naman ako." I lied to them. I'm still waiting for Rhys. Baka may pinuntahan lang siguro yun. Kung kakain ako baka mamaya dumating siya. Pero paano kung hindi siya dadating? I shrugged at that thought. He told me that we'll having a lunch together.

The girls finished their foods. While I'm still waiting for Rhys.

"Ave, mauuna na kami ha? Okay ka lang ba dito?" Rheniel asked me.

"Yeah, mauna na kayo."

"Bye, Ave. See yah!" They waved their hands as they walked out of the cafeteria.

I sighed heavily. I looked at my phone to check if Rhys texted me. Kumakalam na sikmura ko. Konti lang kinain ko nung breakfast. Hindi rin ako nag snacks kanina dahil nasa library ako. Baka maya maya dito na siya. Ang sakit na ng tiyan ko. I kept on looking at the door from time to time. Still no traces of Rhys to be found.

I heard a laughter coming from a group of students who entered the cafeteria. I looked at them and then I saw Rhys--

I frowned as I looked at them. Beside Rhys is a girl who clang her hands around Rhys arm. They are talking about something and then they will laugh. I saw them sitting beside-- who's this guy's name again?

Jax! Its just the three of them. Rhys eyes landed on mine. His smile fades as he looked at me with a cold eyes. The girl beside him whispered something on him and then they started laughing again.

How dare him make me wait for him! I'm just wasting my time waiting for nothing. I stood up and stormed out of the cafeteria.  Siya pa ang may ganang hindi mamansin ha?! Fvck siya! How dare him make me wait tapos lalandi lang pala siya. Sana nagtext man lang siya na "sorry, lalandi lang ako saglit." Fvck siya! Fvck! Kumukulo dugo ko sa kanyang hayop siya. Yawa!

I went to the comfort room. I locked the door as I cried in anger and frustration. Gutom na gutom na ako kakahintay sa kanya tapos siya pa may ganang hindi mamansin. I let myself cry for a while. I immediately wiped my tears when I heard a knock. I fixed my face before going out of the comfort room. I went straight to my classroom. I sat quietly. I'm losing focus on my subjects.

I texted Mang Denis to pick me up. When Mang Denis replied that he is waiting for me at the parking lot, I immediately went there. Nakasalubong ko pa si Rhys nung pababa na sana ako ng hagdanan. Pababa rin siya galing 3rd floor. When he saw me, he immediately look into another direction before he continue walking downstairs. I also went downstairs. I saw this girl again, clanging her hand to Rhys arm. As they walked together at the corridor.

Gusto ko kayong yakapin dalawa ng mahigpit na mahigpit sa leeg!

My stomach hurts so much. I walked fast to the parking lot. When I saw our car, I immediately went in.

"Let's go na po."

On our way out of the school. I told Mang Denis to stop the car at the Donuts Store.

"Sandali lang po ako." I told him before I went inside the store.

I ordered 3 boxes of donuts. I also ordered a large drink. After I payed my order, I went inside the car. Nilantakan ko kaagad ang isang box ng donuts. I love those Bavarian fillings.

Hindi naman halatang gutom ako kasi naubos ko lang naman ang isang box ng donuts. Punyeta kasi ni Rhys at ng babae niya eh! Gusto ko sila pukpukin hanggang sa maging pino sila.

When Mang Denis stopped the car in front of the house, I immediately went out of the car. I went inside the house.

"Para po ito sa inyo." Nilapag ko ang isang box ng donuts sa mesa sa kusina. After that, I went upstairs with a box of donuts in my hand. Dito ko 'to uubusin. I changed my clothes. Pagkatapos ay sumalampak na ako sa kama habang nilalantakan ang donuts. I watched some blockbuster movies while I am busy eating my donuts. It's dark outside when I finished watching. Aling Alice called me when the dinner is ready. I went downstairs to eat my dinner. Sinabihan ko din sila na saluhan na ako sa pagkain. Mom is not here, as usual. She's back at the province, assisting my grandmother in her projects for the people in the province. After I finished eating, I helped them wash the dishes. I also volunteered to clean the table. After that, I go upstairs. I checked my social media accounts, as usual. I saw Rhys tweeted about a minute ago.

Para na naman 'to sa babae niya. Kung hindi ko siguro sila nakita kanina, baka iisipin long para sakin 'to. Siguro na ngisay na ako sa kilig ngayon. Tapos hindi pala para sa akin. Yawa!

I took a picture of myself lying in bed. I added it to my IG story with a caption "unbothered".

Unbothered daw. Weh ba?

I remembered the scene in the cafeteria where I saw them laughing together. My anger rose up.

Pake ko sa kanila! Mga fvck sila! Animalist!

I decided to go to the bathroom and clean myself. After cleaning myself, I went to the bed. And pulled myself to sleep.
