Chapter 37

Pagod akong humiga sa kwarto ko. Buong araw kaming namasyal at naglibot sa mga paborito kong puntahan na lugar dito sa Antique. Pagkatapos nun ay dumeretso si mommy sa municipal hall habang ako naman ay dumeretso sa bahay para magpahinga. It's a long and tiring day.

I decided to get up and took a quick shower but I ended up soaking myself in the jacuzzi.

I used my favorite scent vanilla and strawberry. I soaked myself for a couple of minutes when I heard my phone rings. Hinayaan ko muna. It took couple of calls before I decided to answer.

"Nasa labas ako ng bahay niyo." After he told me that he ended up the call.

That voice...

Dali-dali akong nagbanlaw at nagbihis. Pinunasan ko muna ang buhok ko at hindi na nag abala pa sa pagsuklay bago bumaba. Patakbo akong lumabas ng bahay hanggang sa umabot ako sa gate. I took a deep breath before I decided to open the gate.

Bumungad sa akin ang maamong mukha ni Rhys.

"Anong ginagawa mo rito?" I asked him.

Paano niya nalaman bahay namin sa Antique? Paano niya ako sinundan dito?

Before he could answer I saw my mom's car. Hinila ko siya papasok bago pa siya tuluyan makita ni mommy. Kinaladkad ko siya papasok ng bahay at paakyat sa kwarto ko. Hindi ako nakatanggap ng reklamo mula sa kanya, tahimik lang siya habang sumusunod sa akin.

When we entered my room I abruptly questioned him.

"What the hell are you doing here? How did you follow me here? Paano kung nakita ka ni mommy kanina ha?" I asked him.

He was silently looking at me like an innocent lion.

"Ano?!"

I'm demanding him an answer damn it.

"I need to tell you something." He told me.

"You can call me. You can text me. You don't need to follow me here."

"I also need to-"

"Need what?!"

"I also need to see you, to hug you. I also need to tell you how much I missed you. That a day without you is like a living hell. I need my peace. I'm in the dark and I need my light. I am so weak and I need my strength. I am tired and I need my rest. I am Rhys and I need my Ave."

Natameme ako sa sinabi niya. I felt a butterfly in my stomach. I regret raising my voice on him earlier.

"I need you." He sincerely looked at me with those angel-like eyes and a handsome innocent face.

Masyado ka ng gwapo dapat sayo hindi na pinapakawalan eh.

Masyado ka ng pabebe self, marupok ka naman.

I hugged him tightly. He hugged me back.

"Please don't push me away after this." He whispered into my ears.

He hugged me tightly.

We remained hugging each other for a couple of minutes before he smashed his lips on mine.

Our lips battled. Kissing and sucking each others lips. His kisses went down from my ears, down to my neck. Licking and sucking it. Living marks on my neck.

We stopped as we catch our breaths.

I was siting in front of the vanity mirror while Rhys was busy blowdrying my hair. Sinuklay niya ang buhok ko at pagkatapos ay tinirintas niya ito. I smiled silently while watching at him.

"Ano nga pala ang sasabihin mo sakin?" I asked him after he finished braiding my hair.

"My dad wanted to talk to you."

"Huh? Bakit?" I asked him.

"May importante siyang sasabihin sayo." He rested his both hands on my shoulder.

"Ano yun?"

"Hindi ko alam. Hindi niya sinabi sakin. But I know it's too important that's why he didn't tell me."

"I'll talk to him when we get back to the island."

It's past 9 pm so I assumed that mom was already asleep. I and Rhys sneaked out of my room. Nagugutom ako kaya uutusan ko si Rhys magluto. Hindi siya pwede makita ni mommy.

Naging maingat ang aming bawat hakbang nang dumaan kami sa harap ng room ni mommy. Pero napahinto kami nang makarinig kami ng tawanan sa loob ng kwarto niya. Eves dropping is bad but I can't help it. Lalo na at may narinig akong pamilyar na boses na nanggagaling sa loob ng kwarto ni mommy.

"I didn't expect this. This was far from our plan." My mom's voiced echoed on the room.

"Agreed. Mabilis sa ini-expect nating kalalabasan ng plano natin." The Congressman's voice filled the room.

Plan? What plan are they talking about?

I am so confused right now. Bakit nandito yung Congressman? Did I missed something?

"Konti na lang. Unti-unti nang natutupad lahat ng naaayon sa plano natin."

"Ilang taon din natin plinano ang lahat, ngayon na natupad na maybe we should celebrate it, Congressman." We heard them chuckled.

Nagkatinginan kami ni Rhys. I know he's also confused as hell like me. Nakarinig kami ng yabag palapit sa pinto kaya dali-dali kaming tumakbo pabalik sa kwarto ko. Mabilis kong ni-lock ang pinto.

"What plan are they talking about? Is it just me who thinks that something is wrong going on in here?" Rhys asked.

"I was also thinking the same thing."

I heard a knock on my door.

"Ave, are you still awake?" I heard my mom speaking.

Pinatago ko si Rhys sa veranda ng kwarto ko bago ko sinarahan ang pinto at tinabunan ng makapal na kurtina. Lumakad ako pabalik sa pintuan bago ko binuksan ang pinto.

"Yes, mom? You need something?"

"I would like to ask you if you want to join us for dinner. I am with the Congressman."

"No, mom. I'm good. Kayo na lang po. I'm kinda tired, I need to rest." I plastered a smile on my face.

"Okay, then. We'll go now. Go take a rest now, Ave. Good night, baby." She told me before kissing my cheeks.

"Bye, mom. Ingat po."

Maya maya pa ay narinig ko na ang pag-alis ng sasakyan. Binuksan ko ang pintuan sa veranda.

Nakapagluto na si Rhys pero yung isip ko ay patuloy pa rin sa pag-iisip tungkol sa narinig ko kanina. Hanggang sa makapasok ulit kami sa kwarto ko ay ayon pa rin ang laman ng isip ko.

"Maybe we should investigate the Congressman first." Rhys suggested. I nodded at him.

He sat at the edge of the bed while I am still standing just a meter away from him.

"Come here." He gestured me to com closer at him so I did. He pulled me to sit on his lap. He wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my right shoulder.

"Stop thinking too much. You look so tired, you need rest, baby." He kissed the tip of my shoulder.

Maybe he's right. Kailangan ko muna siguro magpahinga. Humiga na ako at tumabi siya sa akin. We cuddled until we fall asleep.
