Chapter 31

"Shit!" I uttered as I read Rhys's text message.

"Oh bakit?" Rheniel asked me curiously.

"Rhys's dad will be home soon. And he invited me to have dinner with them next week."

"What?! OMG, sana all!" Rheniel uttered.

"Sana lahat tanggap ng pamilya ang jowa." Rhea muttered.

We both frowned at her. She smiled bitterly.

"I introduced Shonn to my family." She told us referring to Ashper Vonn.

"Well, that's good." I told her.

"Sana lahat ni legal." Rheniel muttered

"I thought they will not meddle with my relationship with Shonn like they used to do with my past relationship with the other guys. I was nabigla when they sabi to Shonn na we're not bagay because he was mahirap compared to me." She told us.

Hindi ko alam ang mararamdaman ko. Minsan gusto ko maiyak sa tuwing nagkukwento siya ng mga saloobin niya. Minsan gusto ko maawa sa kanya, pero madalas gusto ko pagtawanan siya.

Nagiging conyo girl pa naman pag nagdadrama 'to. Minsan hindi namin maiwasan matawa kapag nagkukwento siya.

But I was firmly saddened by what she told us.

She told us everything. Her parents wants Ashper to stay away from her.

I don't understand some people. Why would they forced someone to love or unlove a person. Bakit tinitignan ang estado sa buhay. I, somehow understand Rhea's parents, maybe they want the best for Rhea. But the question is, gusto ba ni Rhea yun? I know they're just concern for Rhea but it's not acceptable that they will intervene in Rhea's relationship with Ashper. If they truly cherish each other then let them be.

Minsan lang magpakatanga mega kaibigan ko kaya su-suportahan ko na lang. Ashper is a good guy. He's smart, responsible, and hard-working.

Kahit galing siya sa mahirap na pamilya hindi siya gumawa ng masama o ilegal na gawain para lang mabuhay sila. Siya ang nagpapaaral sa kapatid niya. Working student siya. Nagta-trabaho siya kila Rhea bilang PA at bodyguard nito. Kapag walang pasok ay nasa bukid o palayan siya o di kaya ay nasa coffee shop. Rhea told us about it. Nakaka-proud naman talaga ang katulad niya. Hindi hadlang ang kahirapan para mabuhay sila. Hindi siya mestiso, moreno siya. Not so dark skin color. Hindi nga halata na nakabilad siya minsan sa araw, but still, it doesn't change the fact that he is handsome. Those muscles, siguro dahil sa pagtatrabaho niya.

I wonder how Rhys would look like if he also has that kind of body. Siguro sobrang hot at sexy niya tignan. Medyo payatot siya pero ang hot pa rin niya tignan, paano pa kaya kung ganyan din ang katawan niya. Yayain ko nga siya minsan mag work out.

We all went silent when Jaime suddenly show up.

"Ave, can we talk?"

I nodded and signed her to sit beside me. I think this is the right time for us to talked sincerely.

She sighed deeply before she started to speak.

"I'm sorry, Ave. I know I don't deserve your forgiveness but I just want to say sorry to you. I know what I said to you was wrong and I was ashamed about it. That's why I tried to distance myself to you guys, feel ko, hindi ko deserve maging kaibigan niyo. Hindi ko alam kung matatanggap niyo pa ako bilang kaibigan niyo." Napayuko siya. We just listened to her.

"I know na ang kapal ng mukha kong lumapit at magpakita sa inyo after what I said to Ave. Ave didn't do anything but to love me, support me and to be a good friend to me. After everything she done to me, ito pa igaganti ko sa kanya. Pinatulan ko ang ex niya--"

"Hey, it doesn't matter to me." I cutted her. "I just want to protect you girls. Am not just your friend but also your elder sister. It's my obligation to protect y'all at all costs. You were our youngest sister and we all want to protect you from getting hurt. Nadaanan na namin yan eh, alam namin na masasaktan ka kaya lahat ginagawa namin para iiwas ka sa sakit na yun. Alam namin ang feeling na masaktan at ayaw namin na maramdaman mo din yun. Kasi katulad namin, halos hindi na namin makayanan ang sakit na nararamdaman namin kaya ayaw namin na maramdaman mo yun."

I looked at her and held her hand.

"Minsan na akong nagmakaawa para mahalin, minsan na rin ako nagmakaawa para sa atensyon at oras. Madalas din akong nasasaktan sa pag-ibig. Madalas din iniiwan. Kaya ayoko maranasan mo ang mga napagdaanan ko. Kaiden once cheated on me, pero tinaggap ko pa rin siya kahit sobrang nasaktan ako sa ginawa niya but in the end... He still left me." Tears escaped from her eyes as she stared at me.

"Hindi ako tumututol sa relasyon mo kay Kaiden hindi dahil sa nagseselos ako o na-iingit ako. Mas lalong hindi dahil mahal ko pa siya, kundi dahil ayoko na gawin niya rin sayo yung ginawa niya sakin dati. Kaiden is having fun playing and fooling girls around. Ayoko na pati ikaw paglaruan niya." Naiyak na rin ako nung napayakap siya sakin.

We both hugged each other as we cry.

"I'm so sorry, Ave. I should have listen to you." Jaime uttered.

"Shhhh. It's okay, Jai. We all made a mistake in life and we learn from our mistakes. And in every pain teaches us a lesson. Pain makes us stronger. Para hindi tayo mapagod kakatayo sa tuwing nadadapa tayo."

Rheniel and Rhea joined us. We hugged and cry. I miss this crazy girls and all of the crazy stuff we always do.

I precipitously put my clothes on the luggage. I and Rhys be going to the mountain. Doon sa rest house namin.  I don't know what the hell he was planning. It's Friday night and I thought I was going to rest because it's Friday. Ano na naman kaya plano ng mokong na 'to at pati plano kong magpahinga ngayon gagambalain. I texted mom but she didn't reply. I barely talked to her due to her hectic schedules. Minsan tumatawag siya para kamustahin ako. I missed her so much. I don't know why all of a sudden she wanted me and Rhys to broke up. I always asked her why but she always didn't respond.

Bumaba na ako ng marinig ko na huminto ang sasakyan niya. Nagpaalam ako kina Aling Alice na aalis na kami.

On our way, I listened to the music while Rhys eyes focused on the road. He keep on singing while driving.

"Really huh? Am I your angel?" I asked while looking at him. He smirked before answering.

"Yes, you are."

He stopped the car when we reached our destination.

"What if angels don't exist. How do you explain me then huh?" I mocked him. He faced me.

"Then you will be the first angel I ever saw in my own two eyes." He smiled and then he cupped my face and looked at me intently.

"You make me question my sanity sometimes, but you're the best thing I've ever had. No matter what, in good or bad, I'll love you with all my heart." He pulled me closer and kissed me passionately.
