❝Be careful with you words, once they are said they can only be forgiven, not forgotten ❞

Anna wasn't naive, she had learned the hard way that trusting people was a bad idea. She was kind to them, she was friends with them, but she very rarely let people in.

Even when she cared about them deeply, perhaps especially when she cared about them, she didn't wish to be a burden to those she loved. She had a thing about putting others before herself, and when you put someone before yourself you teach them that it's okay to put you last, or at least that's what Anna thought.

Yet she had done it, she had been naive, after finding out the truth about Jacob she had expected things to change, for Bella to become okay again, (lord knows it'd probably be a while before the girl was more than just okay) and for Jake to stop ignoring her.

However she couldn't have been more wrong, because nothing changed. Jacob was busy with 'wolf duty' whatever the hell that means, which left Bella feeling lonely (because who cares about Anna) seeing as she wasn't being prioritized, and Anna to feel exactly the same, why couldn't they just see her? Why couldn't they just choose her for once? if anything then just because she was the last option, just please choose me she would think, but it never happened, not until it was too late anyways.

FORKS, WASHINGTON

SWAN HOUSE

Bella Swan left an e-mail for Alice saying she was okay, but she wasn't, nothing was okay, she was lonely, possibly lonelier than ever, with Jake being right there yet so far away from her at the same time, she only ever saw Anna when the Stanley girl went to school, which was rare for Anna who always claimed it was a waste of time, easy for her to say when she didn't even have to try to be the best anyways (Of course what Bella didn't know was that It was because she simply couldn't leave her bed) and Bella had had enough, she just couldn't stand this anymore, whether that was what drove her to do it, or if it really was for the rush she couldn't tell, but she knew she was too scared to do it on her own, so she called the one person she could think of who never judged her and probably wouldn't Judge her for this either, Anna.

To say she was surprised by Isabellas sudden call was an understatement, but what was even more surprising was the request that Anna join the girl in going cliff diving, even though Anna was a bit of a chicken, scared of most things that could hurt her that she couldn't control, but if there was one thing Anna was more scared of than anything it was saying no, so being the good friend that she was (even if she didn't know she was) she accepted Bellas invitation and took her bike over to Bellas house where from Bella would drive them to La Push.

LA PUSH, WASHINGTON

BY THE EDGE OF A CLIFF

When they pulled up by the tallest point of the cliff in the middle of an upcoming storm ,it started to dawn on Anna that this wasn't just cliff diving for 'fun,' it was a suicide mission

"Bella this is a very very bad idea" Anna pleaded "Jacob said it's a rush Anna, come on it'll be fun" but Anna wasn't having it, she stood her ground as she watched Bella walk closer to the edge, though she became increasingly worried the closer Isabella got, you see at first Anna hadn't expected that the girl would actually do it, but she was starting to doubt that theory, "Bella, step back from the edge" She said trying to stay calm and taking careful steps towards Bella as if the girl was a wild animal ready to pounce on Anna any second, "Bella if you do this you can't go back, please just think for a moment" but Bella kept walking forward, "Bella please just take my hand and well go home now" she said now sounding very desperate "Bella!" she said loudly but the said girl didn't react at all, she didn't as much as flinch at the sound of Annas voice, and before she knew what was happening Bella had leaped off the edge and into the stormy ocean "BELLA!" she screamed at the top of her lungs, but there was no undoing what had already been done.

LA-PUSH BEACH, WASHINGTON

Anna sprinted towards the shore at full speed praying to every god there may be that Bella had made it, that she wasn't hurt in the slightest, that she would be standing on the beach laughing at Annas concern, telling her that she had missed out on one hell of a rush, but instead what she saw scarred her in a way that no knife could ever, Jacob Black was dragging a dead looking Isabella Swan out of the water, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her towards the pair before she fell on her knees besides Jacob who was giving Bella CPR trying to wake her up, it didn't work at first, and Anna was about to give-up, she was sitting in the sand half covered in water from both the rain and the waves balling her eyes out like a baby over the person she considered her best friends dead body, but just as she had given up hope of ever seeing Bellas smile again, the girl caughed up a bunch of water "Bella, Bella can you hear me?" Jacob panted trying to get Bella to react properly "Jake?" she asked in a hoarse voice "I'm here" he answered relief evident in his voice "Where's Anna" she asked, Jake looked over his shoulder at Anna who was still sitting in the sand crying, she turned around and breathed heavily for a moment before she started yelling "What the hell were you thinking?!" but she was interrupted by Sam Uley running towards the trio "Get the girls home, I'm gonna go help out over at Harrys place," "wait what happened at Harrys place?" Anna asked feeling just a little bit more calm now "Harry Clearwater had a heart attack, Charlie and my dad are over at his place with his family" "is he okay?" Bella asked "He's gone" Jacob answered after a moments silence, and Anna could feel herself begin to tear up again, she didn't know the man but she had had too much death in one day.
