"Uh thanks for walking me." I blushed at him as the anxiety was coursing through me now, but I didn't dare look away from him. Not from these last moments.

"Sure, just didn't want you to walk alone." he shrugged as if it was nothing and maybe it was.

"So--how do I get to your place?" I asked more shyly this time. I broke eye-contact with him like a bitch.

"I'll guide you don't worry, pull out and go straight." he said pointing in the direction for me. I nodded my head and started my car.

I wouldn't say I'm the best driver in the world, hence self-driving car, but I'm not the worst. Now, however, I feel like I have to put my all into driving and not do something stupid. I hope I don't come to any yellow traffic lights, I'm still bad with those.

"What is that?" Timothée asked referring to the loud banging happening in the back. He turned his body trying to look past the dark car, but he wouldn't be able to see it. "Is your car okay?" he laughed.

"Yes," I laughed with him, "I just have..." I hesitated telling him not sure how that would come off.

"What? A dead body? Murder weapons?" he joked.

"Yes let me turn into this dark ally." I responded sarcastically.

"Okay--you're like 5'4 good luck." he sang and we both just laughed at our stupid joke. "No really, what is it?"

"I have a few boards back there." I shrugged.

"Like skate boards?"

"Yeah, I have two long boards and a skate board." I blushed not sure why I was so shy about it.

"Why?" he chuckled.

"I get bored, and when I lived in Houston, I used to drive around a lot and just skate in random areas."

"Why not go to a skate park?" his tone was still very amused and I didn't understand why.

"No that's scary, I'm not good at all." I smiled telling him the sad truth.

"Let's go right now!" he said excitedly.

"Really?" I turned my head to look at him quickly then back to the road. His body was turned to me, and he had a huge excited smile I probably wasn't going to say no to.

"Yes! Where do you go around here?" he asked.

"Usually a park... parking lot... or a random neighborhood." I answered shy about where I chose to skate.

"You are so weird... okay let's go." he pointed straight ahead making us both laugh. I'm not sure if him calling me weird is supposed to be an insult, but I didn't take it that way. He was surprisingly fun to be around. I also don't think he's flirting with me anymore which made my anxiety ease up.

I pulled into random parking spot near a lit up park I skate at here. It was moderately empty, but there was a group of basketball players not too far away. Timothée noticed them too and was staring as he opened my trunk.

"Please tell me you don't come here at night." he said seriously.

"No way, I'm too baby for that," I assured him, "but don't worry I have pepper spray." I looked at him as he smiled down at me. He grabbed my favorite long board, my first one ever, but I didn't say anything.

"Alright I probably won't be as good as you." he said shyly this time as he was fixing his hoodie to his head. He also wasn't making eye-contact with me which I found really cute.

"I'm not good either!" I giggled.

I stepped onto the board and started skating around going in a small circle around my car. This was another thing I made sure to focus on, so I didn't bust ass in front of him. I stopped when I made a circle back to Timothée who was still hesitant about getting on the board. I stopped skating and stood next to him.

"Get on," I prompted, "that's my oldest board so it's really used in and pretty easy to use." I did my best to assure him and he seemed to appreciate it. He put one foot on the board, then the other, wobbled a bit, then started to move a little.

"Hey I think I got it-Oh fuck!" he stumbled off of the board but caught himself from the landing, "now I'm the clumsy one." he joked.

"I will fall a few times too, don't worry." I assured and looked down at my board smiling. It was so weird seeing someone like him be so human.

We skated around in silence and made different comments to one another about skating. It was really nice and I felt like I was alone for the most part, I just reflected on my day and my weird life.

"Can you do any tricks?" he asked.

"Maybe a kick flip." I answered and got off the long board and grabbed my skate board. Timothée stood in front of me watching me as I practiced a few times, but when I actually tried I fell.

"Oh shit are you okay?" he asked me laughing while he helped me up.

"Yes." I answered grabbing his arm he lended and started laughing too. I looked down at my stinging knee and noticed the big cut on it.

"Are you okay?" Timothée asked looking at my scrape.

"I'm used to it." I chuckled.

I noticed he still had his arm around me making sure I wasn't going to fall again. It makes sense, this is the second time I've fell or almost fell in front of him. I moved away from him and grabbed the board putting it back in the trunk. He put the other two back in there and walked around to the passenger side. I got into the car and brought my knees to my chest and checked on on the wound.

"So-"

"Hey-"

we started talking at the same time and the same fire that has been filling my cheeks all night came back. It was silent for a second and he was the one to speak now.

"How did you start a business?" he asked while I was looking at him, but got nervous again and focused on my cut. I was about to start but my phone was ringing, I glanced at my phone seeing it was just Simone.

"Hold on I need to take this." I said answering the call on my phone just in case Simone says something outta pocket. "Hey you home safe?" I answered the call.

"Yes, you?" she asked.

"Yeah." I lied.

"Okay--see you tomorrow I love you."

"I love you too." I said and quickly hung up. I turned to Timothée and gave him a finger to hold on once more, "I haven't checked any work things all night, so I need to do that real quick." I blushed ashamed to put work first.

"You're fine." he said softly. I could see him reach over and mess with my car features to entertain himself quickly. I went through my emails, but there was only one important one.

"Oh my god!" I said out loud really excited for what I was reading.

"What?" he asked.

"I got an interview with the New York Times tomorrow!" I said trying to contain my excitement.

"That's awesome!" He said just as excited as I felt. I was looking him fully in the eyes this time so tranced in bliss.

"I'm really at a loss for words, nothing feels real." I said getting nervous about what to say, "but to answer your question, I went to school for business and marketing. I've also always loved weed so I just combined the things I loved; I asked my mother for help, which is another conversation, and now I'm here." I shrugged answering his previous question.

"I have so many questions." he said looking at me in amazement. It was confusing to why he found my relatively normal life interesting, but I'm sure if I pried at his life I would be just as fascinated.
