thirty-three, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬

I kissed my sleeping Timmy on the forehead before running out of my apartment to meet up with my friends for brunch. Today is a big day, the news about Timmy's relationship is coming out soon, and while I expressed to him I was fine about it; I wasn't. I knew it was fake, but I couldn't help but feel nervous that it was going to be official and out there. My friends were in support of me and agreed to be with me when the news came out.

I walked to our normal brunch spot not too far from my apartment and met with all of them standing outside. I waved to Mia who saw me first and she waved back nudging Conner who was standing next to her.

"Hey." I greeted giving Mia a hug then to Simone and Conner. We walked in getting seated quickly since I called in.

"What's the ETA on the news?" Simone asked putting a chip into her mouth.

"Soon, I feel dizzy." I sighed putting my head in my crossed arms on the table. I felt a hand go on my back and tried to find comfort in it.

"It's just for a few months now!" Connor added to try and lighten the mood.

"I know, but now it's another thing I'm going to have to think about." I whined picking my head up to look at my friends. Simone and Connnor were looking at me concerned while Mia was on her phone.

"Oh my God it's out." Mia mumbled still looking at her phone. We all perked our heads up to her, Connor grabbed the phone out of her hands, "hey!"

"Shut up." he mumbled looking at the phone and zooming in on something. I knew I had every right to grab his phone and look at it, but I don't think I was ready yet. "She's hot." Connor laughed which I know shouldn't bring down my confidence, but I'm warranted to be fragile right now! He handed the phone to Simone next, who was impatiently waving her hand for it.

"Oh my God." she mumbled this time taking her time to zoom in on the photo. What could it possibly be that made it a bigger deal than it had to be. "She's going to cry." Simone shook her head handing the phone back to Mia.

"I'm right here." I waved at her, but now the three ignored me.

"Maybe you're right." Mia was more focused on the article now.

"Why'd you call her hot?" Simone scolded Connor.

"She is!" Connor defended. I kept my eyes on the chips and salsa trying to gain the courage to look at the article. "Doesn't mean Mag is any less hot... but come on it's Johnny Depp's daughter."

"Wow you're an ass." Mia chimed in.

"I'm sorry," he sighed but it wasn't sincere, "Mags?" I ignored him.

"You wanna look?" Mia asked slowly. I bit my lip and started shaking my leg out of anxiety. She was hot, but I can't compare my looks to her, all I can do is just trust that Timothée won't cheat.

"I'm gonna be compared to her forever." I said in a monotone expression just taking in the truth.

"It's never too late to break up with him." Simone said softly letting me know there was a way out, as if that was any better.

"Pft, that's not any better." I sighed sadly one more time then finally looked up to Mia to hand me the phone. She passed it over slowly and I looked at the headline.

"Hmm," I hummed zooming in the picture to Timmy's hair he pushed back in his hat and laughed at what he was wearing. My boy sure knew how to dress. I then brought it back out and felt the head go through my stomach.

Fuck I was jealous.

She was gorgeous, and I knew it was fake by telling myself that over and over again. It only helped so much, it just looked so real.

"Guess they're really good actors." I handed Mia back her phone and just slouch down in my seat.

"It's not real." Simone assured as if I didn't know that.

"Could fool me." I was still pouting for no reason.

"Your choice." Connor chimed in only making me more annoyed with him.

"I'm so close to boxing you." I shot him a glare which made the table laugh which helped a little bring a small smile to my face.

"On the bright side, your height difference with Timmy is so much hotter." Mia said trying to make me feel better.

"Oh for sure." Simone added in a chirpy voice trying to bring up my mood. To an extent it worked, but my mind was still racing 100 miles an hour.

I walked right into my unlocked apartment seeing Timothée standing at the cat tree looking at the cats. He turned quickly giving me a hesitant look, probably gaging how I feel about today's big news.

"Hey flower." he smiled softly almost reaching out to me with his hand at his side. I know I have no reason to be upset in anyway, but it was hard.

"Hello." I pouted walking over to him and wrapped my arms around him. Almost as if I was making sure he was real, and was actually mine. "I'm hoping you're a really good actor." my words were muffled in his chest.

"You don't think so?"

"This sucks." I pulled back admitting to him holding in my tears. "Hoping my intuition is right, this shouldn't mean anything if we are really going to be together for a long time, but it still is ... weird." I pursed my lips and looked to the ground now not being able to keep making eye-contact. I sorta just admitted to wanting to be with him forever.

"I know, but it's just for a little while." his words and velvet voice were soothing. He lifted my chin up to me and placed his lips to mine softly.

I pushed my lips harder really taking in this kiss. He was leaving tomorrow back to the UK for almost a month to really start filming the movie, and even worse with his fake but not fake ex girlfriend. All I had to look forward to was when I would get to see him next.
