Once you were in bed, he hugged you from behind, feeling his relaxed breathing against your neck, his arms around your body and your legs all tangled up. You could get used to be like this every single night of your life.
"Good night, Al." -You said, your voice sounding strange due to another yawn.
You heard Alex chuckle behind you as he tightened his embrace. -"Good night, Mardy."

MARCH, 2002.
You woke up with the annoying sun hurting your eyes.
Stretching slightly, you tried to find Alex by your side since you both got used to sleep together, either at your place or his - but a frown made its way to your face when you realized he wasn't there. His bed felt cold without him.
You lazily got up and went downstairs, looking for him quietly around his house. When you poked your head in the living room's door, you saw Alex sitting on the settee, facing his back to you. You silently walked up to him, just to hug him from behind when you reached him.
"Fuck!" -Alex exclaimed. -"Ya scared the shit out of me, y/n."
"I'm sorry." -You giggled and kissed his cheek. -"Aren't your parents at home?"
"They left a note saying they would be out buying some stuff." -He shrugged.
"Is everything alright, Al?" -You asked once you noticed how dull Alex was that morning. He barely looked at you, and he was replying without any interest at all.
"Yeah."
"Come on, I know you too well, Alex." -You sighed. -"I know something's bothering you... If it was because I scared you, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, I just-"
"Stop apologizing." -He sternly interrupted you. -"It's not that."
"So... There's something." -He just nodded. You sighed and placed your hand on top of his. -"Well, you know you can count on me if you need anything."
Alex looked at both your hands and caressed it with his thumb. -"I'm just so angry right now... and disappointed."
"I can tell... but why?"
He sighed deeply again, closing his eyes. -"I didn't tell ya anything because I wanted it to be a surprise in case it went well... The lads and I asked this bar down the street, so ya know... we could play our songs that are already finished."
"And what happened?"
"They called me this mornin'..." -He frowned. -"They refused to 'ave us playin' there."
"Oh, Al." -You said, hugging him around his chest. -"I wish they could appreciate your band, but... Try not worry too much, alright? I bet there are other bars dying to get such a good band as yours to play for them."
"I don't know, y/n." -He looked down. -"Maybe we're not that good, if they-"
"Stop right there, Alex." -You interrupted him. -"Your band is fucking awesome, your songs are the best out there and your lyrics are masterpieces, alright?"
"You're just saying that because you're me girlfriend."
"Of course not, Alex." -You felt kind of bothered. -"Do you really think I'd just say what you wanna hear? Or that I wouldn't be honest with you?"
"No, I mean..." -He groaned, still not looking at you. -"I'm sorry, alright? I guess they just stole the little hope I had for all this band thing."
