The next day came and Kamari sent the song over to Kevin.
While she waited for a response, she walked into her mom's room.
"Hey mom", Kamari said.
"Hey, superstar", her mom said.
"Mom, I wouldn't say that I'm one yet", Kamari said.
"Yea, but you will be", her mom said. "But what's up?"
"I was wondering if you could take me to go get a car?", Kamari said. "He wired my sign on bonus to my account"
"When? Today?", her mom asked.
"Yes", Kamari said.
"I can't sweetheart. I have to work today", her mom said.
"...you know, when I start bringing money in you won't have to work", Kamari said.
Her mom smiled. "Baby, when you start bringing money in that will be your money. Not mine. Therefore I'm going to continue to work", she said. "Besides, youre about to get married and soon a family may come"
Kamari looked down.
"Right?", her mom asked.
Kamari looked at her. "...I don't know anymore", Kamari said.
"...do you wanna talk about it?", her mom asked
"Maybe later", Kamari said. "I'm going to call Parker and see if he can take me"
"Okay then", her mom said. "But take justin with you since he knows more about cars"
Kamari called Parker.
"I'm a little busy", Parker said as soon as he answered the phone.
"Well when are you not going to be busy to help your little sister pick out her first car", Kamari said.
"Just give me 10 minutes then I'll be on the way", Parker said.
"What are you doing anyway?", Kamari asked.
"Do you wanna know?", Parker asked.
"You know what? No. I don't. Bye. Just hurry up", Kamari said before she hung up.
After talking on the phone, Kamari knocked on Justin's door.
"Come in!", he said on the other side.
Kamari walks in the room.
"What?", Justin asked. He was sitting at his desk, on the computer.
"You wanna help me pick out a car? Matter a fact...I'll get you one too", Kamari said.
"Damn. How much money did you get?", Justin said.
"Enough", Kamari said as she sat on his bed. "Besides, you've been looking out for me and you're about to graduate next year so why not"
"I appreciate that sis", Justin said.
Kamari's phone starts to ring and it's Malik. The muted the volume and let the phone the phone ring.
"No problem", Kamari said.
"When are we going?", Justin asked.
"Waiting on Parker", Kamari said. "He shouldn't be long from what he said"
"I'm surprised you didn't call Malik", Justin said. "Working?"
"Yea", Kamari said.
Justin turned around and faced Kamari.
"I can't believe you got sign. It feels so unreal", Justin said.
